This is an interesting fight. Two great fighters in their prime. Gotta go with Barao, since he already beat him once. Both guys are top rate, though. Barao is probably the only fighter in the division who has the ability to beat Faber.
On the other hand, you have two shot fighters who are on their last legs. Frank Mir has been terrible in his recent fights. He is just too musclebound to compete with guys like Cain or Junior, and the same goes for Overeem. They are ponderous, and don't have the cardio. It's first round KO or these two guys are done. I look for Mir to try to take him down where he has superior skills. Neither fighter is a threat to take any title. They are fighting on past reputation. Mir was champion in a different era. Sport is developing rapidly, and faster, more athletic guys are taking over. These "sluggers" are neanderthals, a dying breed. Still picking Mir, but he can't stand and trade early with a roided up Overeem. Mir should "have hung them up" already, IMO. These two guys are equally slow, so it's a good matchup in that sense, but neither deserves to be in the top ten.

I don't know who will win but i wish i had more money so i could put a faber-mir double on, i think they are good odds.

Thanks bongjangles.

I know they are underdogs but I am optimistic both belts could change hands tonight

Faber has been getting better. I think he wins. Submission via choke.

Lamas is going to KO or submit Aldo.

In the battle of the PEDS I think Overroided will TKO Mir with kicks and punches.

Bagautinov via submission.

Varner by KO because Trujillo needs an attitude adjustment.

I am usually wrong so bet the opposite and make some money.

Wouldn't bet Faber, but Mir is a 3 to 1 underdog, so I might make a small bet on him, hoping that he takes it to the ground and submits Overeem. If he tries to trade, he is toast, and he must know that, so it's to the ground for him to win.

Mirs past his best IMO Overeem will KO him

That's a given. Both are past their best, but Mir's best was better than Overeem. We'll see. I certainly wouldn't put up $350 to win $100 on Overeem. Most of these fights are un-betable, as the odds are almost always very long. Kind of sucks in that regard.

Frank is obviously finished. He looked old. Overeem looked much bigger & stronger.
Meanwhile, Aldo does not look like the best pound for pound fighter in the world. He's not even close to Mighty Mouse, who is really the best fighter in the world, pound for pound.

Bad stoppage. He was blocking every one of those punches with his glove. Not one landed anywhere but on the glove.

That is not what I would define as intelligently defending yourself. Defending himself sure. But intelligently? Just holding on with one hand and covering up with the other while your getting beat on that's not intelligent you can give me all the thumbs up in the world.
