1000 Watt Sativa Tent 2014

Hey Everyone -

Here we go with this winter's sativa tent. This year, I will be growing 1 Oldtimer's Haze by Ace, One Panama by Ace, and Three Destroyer (cannabiogen) crosses that are either Destroyer x Chocolope or Destroyer x Malawi. This is my summer smoke so there is a lot at stake. - Bear

Here are the seedlings entering their vegetative stage. They will be flowered in about a month/three weeks to facilitate a late may/early june harvest.

This is Oldtimer's Haze by Ace. Check out the thread (Oldtimer's Haze) Such a pure sativa is not offered many other places, as far as I have looked, and I have looked extensively. This is as close to the original Haze as one can get. Already she is very incense scented, and I began flowering about six weeks ago, middle of December 2013. She will likely stretch up another few feet or so, but I am hoping to contain her within this tent using hort. wire. Thanks for checking out the thread.

As if you were reading a book, the lineup in the first picture is:

Panama, the big plant is a Diesel cut which I have another thread about, and the rest are Destroyer crosses. The VERY xmas tree plant that has no major fan leaves is a Malawi cross I think. The plans after (below) that are chocolope phenos and the one on the left (first) is a male with a great scent and great vigor that i am contemplating a breeding run with. -Bear

Edit: the grass is wheatgrass which is good in juice but it's primary function is to deter my cats who just go nuts over chewing the fan leaves. Hasnt worked so far as you can see by the Panama.

Far out man, far fucking out. Thanks for stopping by.

shit...edit... temps are very high. Last year the tent would get to 100F and this year with a better vent fan it sits at about 85F and climbs to 90 if its warm outside. I vent directly from outside, usually about freezing or close, through a cool-tube light and into the tent, that keeps it nice. These strains dont mind a very hot climate, as far as I can tell. Humidity hasnt been measured but I would bet that it is below 25%. I can get my hygrometer and check it, ill do that tomorrow.

Hey Bear Riot I remember a past sativa tent grow thread you made, was great stuff. Beautiful sativas, I love it... keep us updated!

Thanks farmari and AuZeN,

yeah Oldtimer's Haze is about as pure of a Sativa as you can get. The thread Oldtimer's Haze is a good one to check out if you are into the pure sativas, the spanish brothers from Ace and Cannabiogen really know their work well. It is a genotype that has been kept pure since the '60's. Heirloom Organic Ganja!

Im worried about the stretch on this Oldtimer's Haze. Here is a look at how much she has stretched since being put into the tent

7 INCHES IN 6 DAYS!

Here are the Destroyer crosses, two are chocolope leaning phenotypes and one is a Destroyer leaning pheno, which Im hoping is a Destroyer x Malawi. The Chocolope smell is very dominant in all of the seeds I have grown out so far except for this one. I have grown out ~ 60 plants until they show preflowers, then selected and flowered two females this fall, and now I have selected these, and thats one characteristic that has been obvious.

Chocolope Phenotype:

Here is a picture of the tent at this date last year. The destroyer, mom of these three, is in the back on the viewer's right.

The Destroyer mom, here she is flowering, showing an extremely thai-sativa expression.

Ever consider going vert and really letting the oldtimres haze stretch like she wants to? Running a vert cab myself and stopped in because I was thinking of running some long-flowering sativas as a final chop in my cab before a move and rebuild.

you know, I have not, but I have seen someone on here with "once you vert, you never revert" in their sig and it has always intrigued me. I dont really know what it is, to be honest.

Looks like this haze is going to have to be tied down once maybe twice more.

One of the Destroyer x Chocolope was moved into flowering on Feb 1st. She has a nice structure but the smell doesnt seem that strong as yet.

This is my favorite, Destroyer x Malawi. She is showing a very sativa profile, and Im thinking of growing her out in the greenhouse very tall, but I'll probably throw her in the tent.

Fed a half strength guano tea today, and put the Destroyer x Malawi in the tent. The DxC #1, already in the tent, is growing upwards about an inch per day.

Destroyer x Chocolope
Her smell is becoming more and more intoxicating, very reminiscent of her Destroyer mother, bitter, herbal, and citric, but also a hint of Chocolaty sweet overtone. If you look at the bamboo stake, you can see through the foliage a small black mark. That is the height that she was flowered at four days ago.

I'm just going to keep updating this thread every day and maybe someone else will post eventually :tumbleweed:

The Destroyer x Malawi is just shooting up in response to the stronger light. She might actually present a stretch issue. The Destroyer mom did not, even veged ~ three weeks longer.

Here is a photo of her the day she was put into the tent:

Here she is four days later, with five inches of new growth. Even faster than the Haze. I am pretty confident that she is the daughter of Malawi.

Hey bear,

Sorry I haven't been posting much. Reading your thread everyday / every time you update though... Love the skinny leaves on your sativa and sativa leaning plants :). Keep on rocking it and sooner or later the rest of the members on here WILL take notice.

Do you have plans to pollinate any of these biotchs for future runs?

Cheers,
BeL

Haha thanks Bud I dont mind talking to myself though... No these three are just a test grow of last years pollination, I still have hundreds of seeds from C99 and Destroyer. I have kept clones of the Haze and the DxM, I plan on trying to find a haze father to make a few pounds of pure haze seed, so maybe if I keep the clone over I will have this (Destroyer x Malawi) x Haze...also if I get a male from the seeds I have from '72 (my other thread) then I will let it pollenate this tent.
