thinking with your heart instead of your mind:

i'm in trouble on the sativa and hemp threads. the academics that rodney dangerfield made so much fun of in his movie "back to school" have figured out with pen and paper that grail landrace sativas are actually hemp strains. i strongly object from a gut/heart perspective that their mind perspective is deeply flawed in this matter.

here are some "heart quotes" from famous ppl:

François de la Rochefoucauld
The heart is forever making the head its fool.

Jacques Benigne Bossuel
The heart has reasons that reason does not understand.

Blaise Pascal
The heart has reasons, which the reason cannot understand.

Benjamin Franklin
The heart of a fool is in his mouth, but the mouth of a wise man is in his heart.

William Shakespeare
Go to your bosom; knock there, and ask your heart what it doth know…

Edward George Earle Bulwer-Lytton
A good heart is better than all the heads in the world.

by Suma Varughese

Because it is ego-driven, head thinking can often be delusory. Heart thinking is focused on reality and therefore unlikely to go too wrong

When Carl Jung, the great psychoanalyst, went to Taos Peublo in New Mexico in 1925, he met the chief of the native people, Ochwiay Biano. Biano told Jung that according to his people, the Whites were 'mad'-uneasy, restless, always wanting something.

Jung asked him why he thought they were mad, and the chief replied that it was because they thought with their heads, a sure sign of mental illness among his tribe

However, heart thinking is at a level higher than reason, not lower. And it is not opposed to reason. The difference is that it does not allow reason the star role it plays in head thinking. Heart thinking arrives at conclusions through faculties other than the mind, but it will use the mind to articulate these conclusions, and even validate them. So what are these faculties?

I read somewhere that humans have a large (more matter than is in our brains) amount of nerves in our chest cavity that may serve as a second brain. Cant remember where I read it though. Stupid head brain!

I hate to disagree, but apparently the heart does more then just pump blood

apparently the heart can send waves of energy

that said I think with my head most of the time

that'S how I made it this far

I do try to feel things out though

when I don't go with my instincts, I usually regret it

I can explain it after I experienced it on one of the most profound psychedelic experiences I had.

I was visualizing the typical "Spirograph" typical of one of the drugs I had taken when it traveled from in front of my face to the core of my brain

you may not understand what I am saying but I realized then that when we closed our eyes and visualized the image is in front of your face where your eyes would be as if there were a projector screen in the front of your skull

it is because our visualization is processed in our optical lobes, and this acts as a bias

the visualization traveled from the front of my eyes to the core of my brain

I think this is in essence the causation yogi experience through meditation and buddhist priests through their practice and so on.

I guess neurologically it has to do with left right and frontal cortex thinking and how each biases the thoughts themselves

there are a bevy of chemical reactions involved as well but they are controlled by the brain as well so even the chemicals that dictate our moods are controlled by us even in how we think

it a consumerist material world this is not a benefit and that is why our culture is so bereft this type of mindset

What exactly is hemp, but yet another Sativa?

I dont think well have this sorted till the end of this decade... if we work hard.
