No new photos. Sorry.

We feed our dogs scraps from time to time. We teach them to wait patiently and then when we are full, sometimes we share with them. Now my wife has turned this into something both cute as hell, and sick and sad. She teaches them to sit and take food gently off a fork. Cricket followed Missy's lead and learned to do it almost immediately. What she doesn't quite get yet is she only gets every other bite, not every bite.

Plus she needs work on that whole sitting patiently thing.

It's so cold this morning (-21 wind chill) that even Cricket isn't impressed. Today she is all business for potty breaks. Even though the front yard is mostly sheltered from the wind by the house, there has been no screwing around at all out there.

She had a nice long nap on my lap this morning. It was like having a fuzzy heating pad on my lap.

Got a new picture to post. It occurs to me there are a lot of Cricket sleeping photos. Don't get the idea that's all she does. It's just the easiest to get a clear shot of her then.

Holy crap BB!
She has doubled in size in 2 freakin' weeks.

What you have there is a minimoose.
Gonna be huge, buy a saddle. :D

It will be interesting to see how much she weighs when she gets her next checkup on the 7th. An unofficial weigh in here puts her at about 20 lbs. At her last vet checkup, she weighed 7 lbs. I've heard that at 14 weeks, you can double the weight for the adult size. That would be 40 lbs. That would make her roughly the same size as Missy.

Won't need a saddle, but our house is going get wrecked like an old Disney movie and two drunk racoons.

Missy has been teaching Cricket her game face. She tries, but as you can see, she just looks adorable and Missy looks like a monster from a Sci-fy channel original.

Disclaimer: Missy looks like she's going to tear Cricket in half. She never has hurt Cricket and mothers the shit out of her, so don't go by looks please.

Cricket is in love with Missy's rawhide chew toy. Missy was indifferent to it, but Cricket's interest has revitalized Missy's. She likes to grab it, play keep away, and then act like she doesn't realize Cricket has the other end when she starts chewing it.

Play time has been real good for Missy, but she usually wears out first. Cricket . . . not as much . . .

She is pretty tough.

Cricket or your wife? I don't see any blood. My Little Dog nibbles on my fingers like that, no holes yet!

I've never seen larger dogs nibble like that, especially at the puppy stage. I wanted to file MLD's teeth when she was a puppy.

That picture of Missy sleeping and Cricket tugging/chewing at her collar...PRICELESS!! How cute is that!!!:biggrin: jpt

Cricket. My wife is Conan tough. She's in a whole 'nother league.

Cricket gets a bit carried away sometimes and it does hurt from time to time, but she doesn't break the skin. You're much more likely to be scratched by her razor sharp, Bond villain claws.

Our groomer saw her photos on the missus' facebook and couldn't wait 'til our scheduled grooming. She came over special just to see her today. Hopefully she'll be able to trim those claws of death when they do come to groom them.

Congrats, BB on the new addition. Cricket is such a cutie. I knew better than to come to this thread because I knew my emotions couldn't take it, but my OBSESSION with dogs made me do it. I read the first two pages , and as fate would have it, my face became filled with tears and snot. Anyway, love those creatures with all you've got because that's what they give you. Must be something to the word "DOG" because if you turn it around, what do you get? Good luck to you and yours, BB.

We still have tears and snot from time to time. Cricket has really helped. No dog will ever replace Spike, but Cricket fills a void. She's been good for us, but especially good for Missy.

I'd just like to point out, though, that we used to have a living room. Now just look at all the dog toys (and my shoes dang it) all over hell.

Plus, with a playpen and all these baby gates, it's like we have a baby in the house. She's pretty spoiled.

Thank you and thank everyone that helped lead to our winning the prestigious and coveted Romper Room for Dogs award. Do we get a plaque?

Those shoes are my old yard work sneakers. She loves to chew on them and our good shoes are safely tucked away where she can't get them. Sometimes she stuffs her whole head into the shoe. Don't know how she isn't instantly gassed unconscious.

I'll have more pics to post, I'm sure. Stay tuned. Same bat time, same bat channel. :tiphat:

face it, she landed in puppy heaven, she's the star of the show, all attention and emotions are focused on her. Cricket has everything she needs love, food & clean water, health concerns addressed.

She sleeps in positions that equate to comfort & confidence, she has no worries her life's needs being fulfilled daily, well done. I'm so happy for your house and family.......

Thanks Stoner. We have always felt that pets are a major commitment. Once you accept the responsibility for a dog, in particular, you should be prepared to accept them as a member of the family. Our dogs are so much a part of our lives that when we go on vacation, we only stay at dog friendly places and bring them along.

As far as being a pampered star, well . . . she doesn't always get what she wants. Mostly, but not always.

We noticed the first night that she was so comfortable, she slept on her back.

Speaking of comfortable sleeping positions . . .

You & the wife are having a great time with the little-un after losing Spike & I reckon Missy is glad the pups there as it`s filling a hole in her heart to .
Years ago I had mother & daughter Jacks , when I lost mum of 18yrs her daughter never ever barked again even when chasing the arse of a rabbit . Who are we to know the deep feelings of our canine buddies ? .

We have a drift of leaves from Autumn that I was too lazy to remove from beside the stairs. Cricket loves to grab leaves and then systematically tear them up, bit by bit. Really strange, but harmless. She doesn't try to eat them, just likes to rip 'em up.
