Hello, I'm excited to be here. Although I'm very new to computers I would like to give a shout out to "Oneshot". He led me to this sight and his LED grows on you tube are a wonderful addition to the information out there. I am currently in grow room construction in a basement. I have mortared and painted the block. I insulated, framed, and tyvexed the the area(10'x7'x7'hight). I am puting in pond liner currently for a 300 gallon fish resivoure. The grow bed is on a sliding rail directly on top of the resivoure. I have two penguin bio filters for keeping a healthy ecosystem. I have a Ehiem canister filter for the biological benefits and circulating the water to the grow area. An submersible pump is also used for circulation and generating heat for the water. Variouse air pumps are in the design throughout to add oxygen for the system. I am using two Black Star LED's by Lighthouse Hydro and two SOL series 200 watt LED's by hydrogrow(please don't judge me). The grow area they will hang over is 3'x9'.

Don't want to write to much so ill leave it at that. Hoping to get to know a few of you. Thank you in advance.

Okay, there have been minor tweaks during system development and I would like to post pics of course. First thing is I don't have enough posts yet to create a thread and second I don't know how to post pics from my IPhone. Any help on that one would be appreciated. I might just add stuff to my intro until then. Or maybe ill Spam the hell out of the four words thread till I get to 50:0

Welcome Koz, New to posting here also your room and system sound top notch! Think all you can do is start posting and get your post count up then we have free reign as a user here. And I know there is a post that explains uploading pics. Welcome again,I will follow along once you start your journal maybe go to grow journals and begin your juornal and that will get your posts up. just a thought. Keepem' green

I would like to get some feed back as to what seeds people would like to see me grow. From the above reading someone can get an idea if my way of going about things. I don't have much head room(3 foot) and I will be practicing cropping, trimming, and low stress training. I also saw some grows here on IC that show people growing mainly singular bud plants in small containers but have a bunch of them clustered together. Am interested in these grows as well. Any suggestions, ideas, and info would be kind.

Not really connecting on IC, but whatever. Discovered Barney's Farm web sight and am interested in the "Red Dragon" strain they have. Also saw some grows that had small pots and just focused on one large central bud. Looked interesting and would like to know what strains the experienced growers would recomend.

That's pretty subjective, but if you could narrow it down some, for what you want/need, Strains and Hybrids forum would probably be a better place to find a particular variety.

With your headroom that short; SOG might be a better way to go. But, that is a 90* turn from the large airpots!

So if I'm understanding you right the SOG method would work better using smaller pots. Ill have to do digging on the SOG method.

Just to clarify, I said it might be a better way to go. But, there are ways around that. There is LST and scrog methods you should look into, as well. Training fewer plants to keep them low and exposing the lower branches to more light, helps improve yield, but it requires fewer plants and a longer veg period (before flowering), which means bigger pots for a bigger plant. SOG is just the opposite; growing a lot more of them with a short veg period. Meaning you can use smaller pots as you aren't growing them big, but because of the smaller pots, you can use more pots.

I have figured on using the SOG method. Didn't know it was called that but saw some grows with large center buds and small pots. I'm going to go for under 3 gallons. Going to try 9 in a 3x3 area and see what happens. Also plan on LST a couple. And also plan on trimming some to how I see fit. Going to try these three ways and see what works for me. The strains I have are of shorter stature and haven't chosen a strain for the SOG yet but it's all about learning for the first year I figure. GTG

Of course I HAVE to experiment but air pots that are around 2 gallons are on the list of supplies to get. I came up with this figuring they would be in flower for around 2 months and there would have to be enough soil to sustain that period.

Let me take this opportunity to let you know a little about my grow.

1. Two 200 watt SOL by HGL and Two Black Star 240UV by Lighthouse Hydro. I'm adding in eight 23Watt 5000k (1600 Lumens) Daylight CFL's to promote growth(and hopefully a little heat).
A. I plan on having these sit over a 3 foot by 9 foot bed(3'x9'). One Sol on one end and then the two Blk Stars then the SOL on the other end. The SOL' are supposed to have a 3'x3' footprint. I am covering the middle 3'x3' with the Black Stars.
B.The CFL's will run across the front and rear as side lighting.

2. I Have 5.5 gal. and 2.2 gal. airpots which will be filled with the soil mix that will include equal parts: Fox Farm Ocean forest potting soil, Fox farm original planting mix, Light warrior seed starter, black gold potting soil, and chunky perlite.
A. The bottom of the airpots will sit in the 3'x9' grow bed which is full of hydroton.

3. This "grow bed" is part of an aquaponic system. It is the Drainage table in which the water from the Fish tank will be pumped up to and drained out of(back into the fish tank).
A. This will be my watering method but I do plan on watering once per week with a compost tea. My Tea system is from "Keep it Simple, inc.
B. I have purchased the "Keep it simple 5-gallon Tea brewing system with extended life motor. simplify-tea.com

4.My seed stock is small but I cherish it: 6 white rhino from BC bud depot, 4 Pakistan Chitral Kush Feminized from Cannabiogen, and one Grand Daddy Purple Kens Kush from a friend.

5. I have a cloning machine and a 2'x4' tent with an 8 bulb 4' long T5 light fixture for my Veg area.

I am currently in grow room construction in a basement. Ran my power to it's own 20 amp circuit breaker. Putting outlets on sidewalls and ceiling. I have mortared and painted the block. I insulated, framed, plastic wrapped, drywalled, painted again, and put an appropriate white reflective material on the walls. I have ran duct work and it is prof. sealed. The area is 10'x7'x7'hight. I am putting in pond liner currently for a 200 gallon fish basin which sits on the concrete surrounded by the floor decking. The grow bed(3'x9') will be suspended on all four corners by pulleys directly over the fish. The two Black Star LED's by Lighthouse Hydro and two SOL series 200 watt LED's by hydrogrow(please don't judge me) will also be hung on pulley's.

I feel like I'm forgetting a couple things but that should give you an idea.
