Autos and cbd's..

I've been looking around trying to find a decent auto with appreciable levels of cbds.Is anyone aware of any strains that might fill the bill?Would the chances of success be greater if a person were to buy a foundation strain like LR2,as opposed to one of the later strains bred from it?

Is anyone aware of any testing being done to measure the cbd levels,or is it basically a crap shoot?(no offense intended).

Started a thread several weeks back in Medicinal forum. HIGH CBD/LOW THC SEEDS. Awesome suggestions from probably a dozen members for strains, clones. Check that one out.

Been researching autos with higher cbd ratio than thc. Dr. Feelgood by Stitch notates it from kush lineage, yet high in thc, as well.

You can over mature your autos as it declines, more cbd.

Just bought Sam's (Resin Seeds) Cannatonic to cross w/ Blue Himalaya Diesel or Dr. Feelgood reg autos and a hybrid I made with probably 10-12% thc to start working with lower cbd strain a few generations from now. That'll take several grows to see how it develops.

It'll come. Scrounged a few ruddys from Southern Rockies in September....nothing notable....yet. Will take numerous grows to mold/shape into viable low cbd and continue to mate low cbd. All in good time. Looks like several of us have the same quest!!

We can only do what we can do...right?Do the best we can with the time we are allotted..and the rest will just have to shake itself out.Good luck with the Harley crosses when you get to them.:)

It's such a shame that after 1000 years or more,we are just beginning to understand this plant. My hat is off to all those who are still young and vital enough to take on this challenge.

I will read with interest your recent thread too. Thanks for the reply.Mucho appreciado.

I was under the impression that over maturing led to more CBN... which is a product of THC breaking down.

It's what I do to my sativa dom hybrids for some 'sleepy time' kinda meds. Bowl of that and you're out like a light in an hour...can't keep your eyes open.

I could be wrong though... :D

I'm kind of dyslexic (cbd/cbn!!)....all I know is, I get better pain relief when I do let plants go towards degradation. Too, I make a salve for arthritis using end product beyond the optimum....did side by side comparison....it seemed (maybe my wanting/wishing it to) like a better topical pain medicine.

Next will be experimenting with oil as I've made alcohol sublingual tinctures the last few years.

Wondering if the recent major hemp harvest in SE Colorado was for medicinal oil....I just thought they harvested for other plant uses.....Hmmmmm.

I would like to hear how you produce your salve. I too have arthritis and if I can find joint pain relief via your method I'd appreciate it. Same for your thoughts on the tincture option.
Thanks in advance.

TINCTURE/GLYCERIN

Ingredients (Variable in increments of 8.5ml glycerin per gram)

•1/8 oz well ground high quality cannabis
•1/8 cup food grade Vegetable Glycerin (commonly found at drugstores and pharmacies)

Tools

•Cheesecloth
•A glass jar and lid
•A glass dropper bottle (for dosing)
•Large pot
•Oven Mitts
• Latex gloves....medical or food handling

Method

•Grind the cannabis as finely as possible and place it in the glass jar
•Pour over the Glycerin and stir it all in
•Seal the jar.
•Heat the pot of water to a simmer and place the jar into the center. The level of the water should be about the same level as the contents of the jar. This will make sure the jar does not float and fall.
•Let the mixture cook for 6 hours or you can do it longer shaking the contents of the jar often and adding water to the pot as needed to maintain a level of boiling water.
•Once this is done, pour your mixture through cheesecloth into a bowl. After you have poured it through, squeeze the excess from the cheesecloth careful not to break it.

Suggest using gloves for this, saying, “I didn’t and I will assure you, this stuff can go through your skin and make you Super Stoned.”

LIP BALM

For lip balm, take a few teaspoons of the canna-coconut oil while it’s still hot and mix with about 1/4th to 1/5th the amount of melted beeswax, adding the oil from 1 vitamin E tablet.

ARTHRITIS BALM

4 3/4 cups virgin olive oil
1 1/2 cups st johns wort
2 cups dried calendula blossoms
1/4 cup comfrey root
1/4 cup org lavender flowers
6 TBLSP coconut oil
1/2 - 2 cups dried cannabis LEAF/stems/pop corn bud
pure beeswax, enough to make a "salve consistency" 1-3 oz.

ARTHRITIS SALVE #2

Take 6 ounces of leaf marijuana/stems/leaves, wrap in cheesecloth bundle and place in a large stock pot to steep. Cover well with water and add 1.25 cups of olive or coconut oil. Bring to a boil and simmer at a low boil for 5-6 hours, adding water as needed.

Allow to cool and strain through cheese cloth, saving the liquid. Place the liquid into the refrigerator over night.

Peel the oil layer off the top and place into a small pot and heat over low to melt. Add some beeswax (1-2 ounces should work but experiment to get the consistency you like) and cool into a salve.

I add Frankincense .5 oz. bottle to it...anti-inflammatory.

Sometimes I mix TRAUMEEL a few oz. in with cooling mixture....has calendula and arnica Montana in it.

Hope this helps.

the first ever auto with high CBD content is MED GOM 1.0 just released by Grass O Matic, a seedbank based in Spain, obtained by crossing a CBD crew' pure CBD strain with their best auto.
THC/CBD 1:1' minimum CBD content is 6-8%.
more autos CBD on the way soon...

Good to see people working on the higher CBD/THC ratios.

Aridbud - have you had any of your auto strains tested for the ratios? Some of your strains sound interesting. Also any plans to sell through the larger seed banks?

@ Swamp-
Actually, no as far as testing cbd:thc ratios. We do try to research (w/ out the high CBD hype that some breeders purport) strains for the varying qualities. And takes several generations (6 grows/hybridizing) to have fully auto's strain stable.

Eventually, another selling facet. Seedbay seems to work quite well right now, along with clients, steady customer base we've had prior to coming aboard.
