What is happening in SoCal market right now

Hello.

I am from LA and I grow for food. This is my profession.
My last run was top-shelf Loui. This was in September.
I haven't really followed the market or spoke to my customers since then as I had some serious issues to attend.

Yesterday I spoke to one of my buyers and was shocked to learn that he had to close. The city went after the landloard.
He (the buyer) told me that things are grim for pre ico stores.. Worst then usual.
I don't know much about prop D but he said its drag.

So. I have just resolved my long lasting problem and getting back to business. Do you guys know or heard what is happening in SoCal's cannabis market and industry.

Thanks... Happy New Year!

It's a statewide thing. Ever since the Cali supreme court decided that cities and counties can ban dispensaries AND regulate or ban grows using zoning regulations, many have decided to take that route.

This is why it marijuana must be legalized in CA this year!

We must take back the power from these local despots!

Skip - is this what prop D is about?
But don't you think voting is just a circus now?

Ever since people voted "no" on GMO labeling I started question the whole process. I mean, who in the right state of mind wouldn't want to know what they eat. Well, people have spoken. They said "No"???...
You see, after this obvious fraud how can I believe in the power of my vote.
Is there another way?

Sorry... Please forgive me because I went off topic.

Just got another word that a guy I know closed his doors as well.
And the outdoor, cheaper bud is still tops everyone's shelfs. ...

Monsanto doesn't want you to know, neither does just about every large food corporation in the USSA.

Take a look at the donor list on GMO labeling battles and you will see the opposition out spends the people for GMO labeling a million to one.

It's sickening but monopolistic corporate greed rules all.

This deserves a separate thread.

Let's continue talking about foked up situation in California! What is going on?
All the shelves filled with outdoor bud for cheap. Not a good news for indoor growers.

you've got to bear in mind that a lot of this state is marginally poor(meaning they make too much for government assistance, yet don't make enough to ever get ahead) and that bill included something like a 15% increase in food cost(that's a lot when you already live check to check in a zip code that is not beverly hills)....and just because now 95% of the food in the markets is marked gmo doesn't stop the problem which is having gmo food to begin with, which is also now 15% more expensive(and still the cheaper product) due to the label confirming what we all already basically know...if it's not labeled organic it's probably gmo or contains the byproducts of gmo's....I voted for this bill because I believe we should have the right to know and not just the ability to assume but I also realize that what is important to me may not be important to my neighbors and thats the beauty of a democracy

be informed, or don't...either way your gonna live with the results.

you guys had it good for a long time, WA is the lowest priced state (though with 502 and the fucktards trying to make that happen it might rise) Top shelf patient to patient rarely sees anything higher than $200, dispensaries won't pay more than 2200-2400lb. Best bet is to find patients and take care of them!!

If you want pot legal go check out whats going on in WA, no MMJ patients voted yes to this unless they saw $$$ as being a producer for the state, we're still fighting to squash that shit!!

Wha you guys see as a negative (cities/counties being able to ban shops) we see as a positive in the mmj world here in WA. The Attorney General sited that Cities can over rule State on moratoriums of recreational pot!!

Couldn't Agree More; Our local collective was the one that took the case to the supreme court and lost.

Landlords are shutting the doors. Even with Harborside, they tried to close it by the landlord. It didn't work because the landlord and contract specifically detailed the nature of the business.

The plus side of it is; recently, I read a statement that the landlords are not losing their property, at least in, the Inland Empire. Not one landlord has had his property taken away. That is a big plus. But, nothing is for sure, some dumb judge could toss up a cookie and take the land, too.

I've met folks that had to pay off the local cops from the walk up window, $5K to stay open for one day. One local one, finally shut down when the fee went up to $20K a day. I also know folks in jail for keeping their collective open. If the local pressure doesn't work, someone invites and helps the feds shut them down.

Prior to the supreme court ruling; the feds were just going in and taking the buds and leaving the workers and cash alone.

Regardless of the mmj laws...where there is a will, there is a way.

The busiest collectives give free dabs or joints and subscribe from low shelf prices as low as $60/oz to almost $400/oz; having a menu for all budgets and tastes.

As Mojave Green states, getting real patients in need for bulk and wholesale pricing seems to be the safest way to move your product. Which is what I subscribe to and do, as a patient.

The water doesn't get so muddy with grower direct, here in Cali.

This is the dispensary owners' faults...non-profit doesnt mean dump a bunch of money into flat screen tvs for menus, pocket most of it and/or other stupid shit to make the balance 0 at the end of the quarter. There are places that are still open or were open a long time because they are really compassionate and not in it to make a buck. Most places don't donate any money to any charities, community programs, schools, etc...then they want to turn around and claim they are doing a service for sick people blah blah blah, wolf is sheeps clothing...

Sorry by so cal I mean LA ....dago would be the last place I'd try and set up something like that in so cal. You really think dea would really give a bunch of shit to some mom and pop micro growers and patients when they have walmart type gangster storefronts all around. Possibly any things possible.
