i could care less about your sarcasm dude...

actually funny you should say...

I am smoking some SSH right now...it rocks'

Bwahahaaha, so it took you 3 minutes to:

A. Realize you do care that I made you my son

B. Realize that the "sativa" beast that your ONTERRIBLE black market bud dealer sold you was in fact the same strain I said you'll NEVER find from an LP

Judging by that 3 minute reaction time, the beast you were puffing on wasn't in fact haze, but in fact a disgusting phenotype of purple kush covered in mite spray

BWahahaha you're the worst

Ya for a designated growers corner, sure a lot of opinions from grown it alls. People that are not just not growing, but not even helping other have meds. Why they feel the need to comment is beyond me. Thanks to all the folks that have helped in this thread. I have found it to be one of the most helpful in the Canada forum. Peace GS

Reefs cup win was at the High Times cup in Amsterdam back in I believe, 2004. Yes nutes have a shelf life, I'd toss it ;)
and Reef doesn't = Medijean...he's the director of R & D for them

Reeferman also won a TY CUP in 2010 if I am not mistaken.

Medijean will never get an LP unless they move out of Richmond as council there voted to not allow medical cannabis grows, and 1 of the rules to get an LP is that city council has to approve the grow location.

it's possible Medijean isn't after an LP, but rather R & D contracts, etc. don't think they plan on moving after putting up multi millions into said facility. Yes Reef won 3rd place seed co Indica with Ultra King ( Pink Kush x Afghan Skunk ) and medicalmarijuana.ca won 1st for compassion clubs with Early Purple Kush ( PK x Mighty Mite ) ;)

Pretty sure they just need the correct zoning and NOTIFY the municipality, fire, RCMP/LEO's etc...

Notify <> Permission

Now Zoning or re-zoning on the other hand...that could be different....

The "correct" zoning is the issue, any municipality can block or disallow LP facilities based on zoning.

Notice ≠ Permission.

well considering Medijean is donating to the D.A.R.E. program and the facility is adjacent to RCMP headquarters, something tells me there ok right there...;)

I liked the way the feller ended the article!

FORT ERIE - Looking from the outside of his Fort Erie home, no one would have a clue that William grows his own medical marijuana in his basement.

If anyone were to enter William’s home, and walk down the steps that lead into his basement though, he or she would get his or her first hint. The smell emanating from cannabis plants would lightly touch the inside of his or her nose.

Inside a small but well organized and properly ventilated room sits 35 plants surrounded by lights and a fire suppression system.

William, who asked that his name not be used, suffers from Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid. Because of the disease, William uses medical marijuana to treat sleeping and eye problems.

Once he obtained his license from Health Canada seven years ago, William has been legally growing marijuana ever since. He’s allowed to grow 75 plants, but William said he only grows 35 because he doesn’t want to grow more than he needs. He said 35 plants will grow enough medication for him while taking into account that not every harvest is successful.

Safety remains important to William, who has had his small grow operation undergo electrical, fire and safety checks.

William said the plant-based herb has been used to treat a variety of medical conditions such as AIDS, cancer patients, and glaucoma.

“I will never return to medications like Oxycontin again,” he said.

William didn't like the side-affects of the medication he used to take but marijuana leaves him feeling like himself.

“If you have Lupus, arthritis, or other diseases, I would encourage people to try it. The list of illnesses (that medical marijuana can help) continues to grow every day,” William said.

William has taken a number of medications including Oxycontin to treat his illness in the past but turned to marijuana after researching the benefits of it.

“It’s a liberating feeling you have when you finally get your license to grow and you realize how much better you feel,” William said.

“To have it (my license) be pulled is a terrible feeling.

As of April 1, new regulations put in place by Health Canada will make home grow operations such as William’s illegal and make pot farming a legitimate industry.

The changes for new regulations for the distribution of medical marijuana were announced by Minister of Health Leona Aglukkaq in June.

Under the new regulations, production will take place in commercial facilities with security measures in place such as video surveillance and have security clearance from the Ministry of Health.

Licensed producers will comply with regulations for quality control standards, maintain comprehensive records, inventories of marijuana, and security system to protect against selling it illegally.

Marijuana will be sent to to registered clients through a secure courier, and all grow operations require a quality assurance worker.

Plants must be indoors and the site have restricted access areas, including all areas where a licensed activity is conducted with marijuana.

Both commercial and home operations will continue until March 31, 2014. After that, Health Canada will no longer produce and distribute marijuana for medical purposes.

Det. Sgt. Lou Greco, Det. with the Niagara Regional Police Guns, Gangs and Grow unit, said the federal government introduced the medical marijuana program in 2001.

“There are at least over 50 (home grow operations) in the Niagara region that we're aware but that number is likely much higher,” he said.

When the new regulations are in place, Greco said police expect former home grow operations to respect the changes.

“It is a gray area and it will be interesting to see what happens. As of the specific date, people who currently have the licences will not be allowed to grow,” Greco said.

If police believe there are people who aren’t following the new regulations and continue their home grow operations, Greco said police will revisit known addresses of home grow operations.

“We will do investigations and if we believe there is enough evidence, we’ll obtain a search warrant.”

Greco said he expects special interest groups to lobby the government about the changes to grow operations but the coming changes were made for a reason.

“The purpose behind the regulations are to keep the community safer,” he said.

“Health Canada says you have to comply with safety standards that people should be following, but in some cases people have not been following it with by not having proper ventilation.”

William doesn’t agree with the new regulations that will be put in place because of the cost difference. He can grow his own medical marijuana for 50 cents to $1 per gram, but the cost of purchasing it from a commercial grower would range from $8 per gram to $15 and delivery.

William said he doesn’t plan on stopping his small operation in his home.

“If I’m caught and brought to court, I’ll tell the judge I’ll still continue to grow,” he said.

“I’ll tell him, ‘Your Honour, I’ll continue to grow and once you let me go, I’ll go to the store and get everything I need. I’ll be starting my new grow operation when you’re in your bed tonight.’”

I don't believe they are seeking an LP, but just R&D, which I don't think Richmond has banned.
