West Coast Sour Diesel & Spgbx w/CFL's & T5's

Hello cyber green friends!

I am happily and finally starting my medman brand West Coast Sour Diesel. Thankyou, kind gent!

In addition I am playing around with the spgbx seeds I created my last grow. You will see them in a Hortilab bag. Keep on mind, these are not Hortilab seeds. I created them from a male and female I grew out and bred. 14 of those seeds are started here with the WCSD, as a test really. If they suck...my fault. If they are awesome then credit to Hortilab!
Back to the WCSD. I am superexcited to run these. Thus far, I always germinate between papertowels. I basically plant the sprouts at a staggered rate as they pop. This time I went ahead and soaked in 100 ml of water for 48 hours. You'll see this in the pics below. The 13 WCSD are the small seeds in the cup on the right. The seeds on the left are my Spgbx. I chose 7 light seeds and 7 dark seeds.

Right around 48 hours I dropped them into soil in solo cups. One more change from what I have done thus far. I am starting them in an organic soil. I will post a shot if I can find it. Hopefully I have no trouble. In the past I have used both a peat/sphaghnum soil starting mix and mostly Miracle Gro seed starting mix. I was a little nervous to deviate from what has been working ok but I did it anyway because I have a strong suspicion my seedlings have been burned from the miracle gro. We'll see.

Now I am anxiously waiting!

And also, I should say that the solo cups are currently situated under 250 watts of CFL lighting. Thats 2 x 125 watt bulbs with reflectors. 6500k

They are in a tent and as I am flipping my oIder crew tonight, they will now spend 12 hours out of the day zipped up. The other 12 hours I open the doors as I do not yet have an exhaust/ventilation system for the tent.

Here are some shots from last week...

Here's where it's at.

Sadly, some bad news on the WCSD. I only have 2 seedlings out of my 13 seeds. We are definitely going to call this user error. I should not have tried out a new method when what I was doing before was working just fine. My apologies have been made to the breeder. What I do have is 2 very nice little seedlings. They are quite stout and their leaves are a buttery almost waxy texture. Interesting. Quite the contrast to my 7 Spgbx seedlings. Not surprising, I have 7 out of 14 seeds successfully grown to a seedling. My suspicions were correct on the seeds ivmade. The dark, stripey seeds are viable. The light colored faded looking seeds did not pop and were not viable. But they are very different in comparison to the wcsd. Their leaves are more like banana leaves...thinner and stretched out. Much like my original #4 lady.

Here are the week 2 shots. First up is a group shot. You will see on the left 3 straggly looking things. These are my 3 surviving clones. There are 2 bubblegum and 1 northern lights. I won't be focusing on them much in this report. They are there, and alive for now.

The 2 WCSD are smack dab in the middle. They have the sweet spot as far as light is concerned. I am spoiling them. Then, surrounding them you have my 7 Spgbx.

I have moved this little crew indoors to my bedroom closet. This happened mostly out if necessity. I needed the tent in my shed for pollination. So this crew had to relocate. What I found is that feel like I much prefer my veg area to be indoors and completely separate from my flowering crew.

So, they will be in here until the flip.

Hello!

Way behind on my threads sorry guys. Crazy life.

Suffice it to say all are still alive and basking under a 1000 watt set up I was gifted. Still figuring that out...having some stretch but they are in week 3 or 4 of flower I believe.

BOTH the WCSD are ladies, yes!

Then I also have the three clones in there. NL#7 and BG#5 x 2.

I also have 4 x Spgbx.

So, nine ladies total. Ill post some pics and try to catch up from here. Unfortunately I can't seem to get good pics with that new light.

But ill post what I can...

Sorry to hear about the lost! At least you got 2 ladies.
I am very interested to see how the wscd dose as i am about to order some myself.
