I use whatever is cheap, and readily available. You can got to a big box store and get a bag of mulch for about $2, or you can use coco chunks. They work very well, and you can reuse them for years.

It all depends on what you have available to you locally.

As far as perlite as mulch, you will only do that once. Once you have perlite EVERYWHERE, you won't be able to clean it up quick enough. :)

you have good deals ,but shipping going to get me :(

ive been looking for a legit amendment source

You can get flat rate shipping on our Ebay, or you can send a list, and we can see what the cheapest shipping would be.

I was in a hurry when I answered this yesterday and overlooked the best option. Leaf litter. If you have a pile of leaves in your yard dig down in them, and get some leaves. Then you have free mulch.

Unfortunately some people don't have this option, but a pile of leaves is not to terribly hard to find.

:woohoo:winter and i still got LEAVES, pots topped off and Done. thanks for all your input in answering my questions. helpful, intelligent responses. And a big" icmag"" heck yeah", for putting my order through FAST. I dont like bugs around my grow so i heated my leaves to 170 degrees in the oven and they break up nicely too.

you dont have your 50lb rice hulls or 50 lb crabmeal listed on ebay :/

The 50lb bags are hard to do at a flat rate. If you need specific shipping estimates you can put things in your shopping cart on the website, and then click on the cart, and then check the button that says estimate taxes and shipping.

I hope that run-on sentence helps you out. :)

If you are trying to aerate potting soil the cottonseed hulls would not be my first choice. They are good for out in your yard.

The rice hulls can't be beat for potting soil. Obviously that is an opinion, and not a fact. :)

Hey Eureka my girls are 23 days old from planting the seed till now. They seem to be growing quite slow and not looking "very" healthy but not sick either. Lower leaves are yellowing and a few leaves are droopy and tacoing... Two days ago I repotted from the light warrior to my soil which I have been charging with your teas for about three weeks... I can email you a few pics if that would help. What's going wrong or is anything going wrong?

Let me know if you got this remedied as you progress. You can always email me again if need be.

They work just fine in potting soil. personally i added 5lb to 18 gal of soil. Is nice and airy, and organic obviously. Makes a great addition to the byos flower mix that ESO sells. I actually dug into a container a little bit. The rice hulls create a air pocket due to their shape that the roots, and root hairs grow into. roots like that nice, warm, moist air pocket. And the roots explode, divide up to occupy that perfect condition by getting fat and large. Therefore can better uptake all the nutrition the soil has to provide.
Thats my take on it anyway. FH:laughing:
