Self Improvement 2014

Happy New Year guys,

I think ive worked out a way to get better at life. If your anything like me your probably living to maybe 50% of your potential. Efforts must be doubled!!

It involves little steps everyday, and list writing every night.

This is by no means a new idea, but sometimes its doing the simple stuff in life well that can really make one successful. Success to me is living every day productively & happily, taking steps each and every day towards HONOURABLE goals in life. I would add here too; rest days are important as well, and much more appreciated when one is busy the rest of the time.

Its really quite simple and practical really; what it involves is every evening, sit down and write a list of say 2-6 things to do tomorrow that you know you need to do, but have been putting off for no good reasons other than laziness and lack of motivation. The next day, once you finish one of the tasks, make sure you physically cross it off the list to signify that job has been accomplished. This part is important. I might also add you can write things to the list that you don't want to do.. eg: Not shooting heroin might be a good thing not to do, or something less extreme such as no alcohol or refined sugars or whatever it may be. At the end of the day, cross the "do not's" off the list too, you did it. See what i did there? This provides an unexpected source of extra willpower i have found.

Ever since ive started writing lists for myself to do every day, i find myself much more productive and happier to boot.

What has also happened to me is, after a week or 3 of doing this, i ran out of obvious menial things to do, which was great! But what now i lamented..? But my mind didn't really accept this state of limbo for long after disciplined list writing for a few weeks, and i found myself then WANTING to undertake the more complex hobbies/tasks that one has been meaning to do forever, but just has not done. Does that make sense? Thats progress RIGHT THERE.

If you struggle to motivate yourself in life for whatever reasons, try this and see how far you can take it. For me this all comes from the true realization that life is over sooooooo fast; so if you dont want to have any regrets, get busy living or get busy dying yo

Peace & best wishes for 2014

I have read a lot on here and know a lot - but not in practice.

In our own little ways, we fail in growing, in small ways. Or huge ones like rabbits eating your sprouts, or slugs.

I found out in my area, you must cage everything, and line everything with chili-powder.

Just when you think you're awesome, you "fail."

One or two times, then you learn.

Failures or success? Well, I don't have any problems now.

Successes, they were!

:woohoo:

I get better at life everyday without doing a damn thing.

I wake up.
I'm not dead
More practice time
Practice makes perfect.

Pretty simple.

Just got to get your POV in alignment.

Most times it ain't your life that sucks...
It's your thinking that sucks.

This bit here is SUPER IMPORTANT for us all.

I would like to share an old American Indian proverb that no doubt some of you have read before. This one really made an impact on me

[FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica]An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life:
A fight is going on inside me, he said to the boy. It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too.
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,Which wolf will win?
The old Cherokee simply replied, The one you feed.

Darth, What strain from BOG is that? Nice picture.

Thanks bro.

The first pic is a BOG Bubble cut. The 2nd pic is a Blue Kush cut. The blue kush keeper is really nice imo, grows so easy and puts out fantastic quality product. The BOG Bubble is a big yielder, smells like straight bubblegum, unfortunately havent had much success getting the smell transferring into finish product. For that reason probably going to ditch the bubblegum cut soon.

Im always looking for new keepers, quite keen to do another seed run soon actually

cheers

Nice grow man, I wish I had a nice little grow like that

Visualize what you want bro, then put the plan in place one step at a time to make it happen. I started with nothing but hopes & dreams

Cheers & Good Luck

Completely agree about making lists! That is a great mindset, and it is true. We all are lazy sometimes and can all work on ourselves to be better. Making lists is also great for your memory. I have two lists. One for the most important vital things that must get done and one for things to do when there is no vital work.

I wish i had more relaxing days but hey, that's why we get paid the big bucks.. making sacrifices that others won't

Since i made the original post ive actually been quite bad at writing lists

And i tell you what, i definitely had a couple of drifting days where i didn't know wtf to do with myself. I was literally wandering around in a "haze" :snap out of it:

After reverting back to some lists again, im now back on track. Talk about practice what you preach shiiieeet

Well along the lines of thinking of some of the posts here:

If you take a look at how people rate life it simplifies down to deciding whether a given day was a good day or a bad day. If over time you have a preponderance of good days then life is good or if you have a preponderance of bad days then life is bad. Now if you look at it objectively rather then just how it affects you personally, any given day is rarely if ever so full of good or so full of bad as to be an unequivocally good day or bad day. Rather most days are filled with lots of good and lots of bad and it's what we choose to focus on that helps us decide if a given day was good or bad. If we focus mostly on good things then we'll feel it was a good day and likewise if we focus on mostly bad things we'll feel it was a bad day.

We tend to do this on autopilot with our general mood steering us one way or the other but if we could put more conscious effort into it perhaps we could get ourselves to deliberately focus on good things and thereby take control of our destiny and turn what is a mix of good and bad days, for many perhaps more on the bad side, into all or mostly all good days?

Then as you over time, identify more solidly the things that always feel good to you, start participating in making those same kinds of things happen for others. Then you can say that not only do you have a good life but you actively help others to have a good life.

It's kind of like the "The Power of Positive Thinking" meets "Pay It Forward" :)

Awesome post bro, couldn't agree more.

When you catch yourself starting to get steered by your emotions, its important to take a moment and reason it out objectively in your mind. I now ask myself, why am i feeling like this? And go from there to try to work it out. Its the beginnings of training the mind into more conscious awareness & living eg: doing what you want not just merely existing like a sack.

What we CHOOSE to focus on is critical to our long term mental health and wellbeing imo. You can see someone who has good thoughts; it comes out in their behaviour, their mannerisms, their tone of voice, how they treat people, everything about them. And on the dark side you can also see someone who is consumed by negativity, hate , jealousy etc, in some cases it is pouring out of them. Never be the latter that's like the worst thing a human can be imo. There's enough c**** in the world already.

Its funny too, ive been using that word "autopilot" for the longest time literally since i was a young teenager. Think its a great word, and a dangerous state of mind to be in, unfortunately experienced by most of the population. FFS that's how most automobile accidents happen; some idiot isn't present!

I make lists of tasks that need to get done...

Then I forget where I put them so I take a nap instead.

Works perfectly.
