I only water my smart pots twice a week. As far as adding nutrients you will have to supply more information.

What soil mix are you using?
Are you feeding the soil anything?
What size pots?

I love smartpots,, I use Promix hp in them and usually feed every 4 days or so.. I def wouldn't let them sit in anything, I've seen them used with drip system and flood tables, but drain to waste.. not saying it can't be done but it seems like u would get fungus issues keeping them wet..maybe not.. perhaps more experienced growers could answer better,, like above poster asked, what medium are u gonna use with them?

I keep my smart pots wet all the time. No issues
I think what the salesman was telling you was that you might need to water more often, nothing to do with ferts...
I dont need to water more often in my #3 smarties than I do with my #3 plastics. Actually the smarties dont need to be watered as often, but I do multiple feeds per day anyway.

10 liter smartpots.
I feed Them with b.a.c Bloom npk is 6 5 6
And i am growing in grow mix from green label. Was all up on giving Them 3ml for Every liter = they get feeded Every Day . My plants are green and all that .

So yesterday i gave Them 1.5 ml because i could see 1 Got little burn. Should i try give Them plain water and let Them dry in a bit ? And then fert again.

Im in middle of week 6 in flower . And buttom leaves are starting to get yellow Well loks Like they are starting to move sugars from leaves to the buds. So i guess harvest is getting near 3weeks i believe :)

Looking for one that know how to grow some huge buds i Can learn from. Ive been away from growing some time.

I use coco.
I feed multiple times everyday.
I would not attempt to feed full strength everyday, or multiple times a day with soil since it already contains food...
The roots grow much more efficiently in the smarties and dont spin around the container against the dry plastic, so they dont seem to need to be watered as often.
People often say they need more water, but I disagree

I found if under watered. Smart pot roots will stay in the center of the pot with few roots making it to the fabric. Let alone be air pruned .. Multiple watering per day & make sure to water evenly.
Watering at the base of the stem (drip/low flow)resulted in the same, sub par root growth. Well watered smart pots with mass air pruned roots, rock!

2cents..

I water mine from the buttom . Got a big 120x120 tray. My sides on my smartpots are full of roots but i noticed when i went from 2,6 ml på 30 some roots turned brown and thin. So did they get burned. When i gave them 1.5ml new white roots came out

First, remember root temp is as important as air temp. Root temp should be 65-70 degrees (f). I grow in 5 gal. Smart Pots and love them. I grow in coco and perlite, 70/30 mix. I feed every 3 or 4 days, 1 gallon nutes per plant. I reuse the medium. I grow organically w/Nectar for the Gods nutes and I use Hygrozyme to help rid medium of dead roots. I'm on my 4th grow with same coco/perlite mix. Never had a problem.

smartpots are great, but leaving them in water would totally defeat the purpose of the pot, if the cloth is wet the roots wont air prune, they are basically like any other pot, you don't need to change the way you fertilize...

i don't know how you would fertilize a plant without doing it at every watering, to be honest...i guess years and years ago i would give them full strength nutes, then water then nutes, but eventually i realized the plants prefer getting a steady dose of nutrients at a lighter dose than alternating periods of heavy fertilizer and plain water...

of course with organics your plants are always getting what they want...nutrients are locked up in the bodies of bacteria and are slowly released when the soils food chain plays itself out...that is as long as you keep your microbes fed...

you are recommending people water their smart pots multiple times a day??? lol i water mine 1 or 2 times a week, depending on the size of the plant (i use them only for moms, my production plants grow in beds), and i have never had issues...i use air pots and smart pots, both are superior to regular pots when treated EXACTLY the same...i honestly would quit growing if i thought i needed to water the same pot several times a day just to get good roots...it's hard to follow your English, lets hope you aren't from here, cause most of that sentence didn't make any sense...

If u were running cocoa n perlite, or something similar, I could c feeding every day, with drip systems, etc..

lol glad to to see im not the only one who only waters twice a week in Geo pots and they do fine...outdoors in summer in this LA heat I water sometimes daily or twice a day if its 100 degrees + outside like it can get here.
