hey guys, I am in the middle of building a brand new hydro grow from the ground up. given our budget of 15k on this project, we have decided to go all out and get the current cultures under current 32 xxl site system, running 8 gavita 1000watts on 4 light rails, pretty much doing it big... the problem is this is my first commercial hydro grow, just recently switching from soil due to time and labor shortage... so as for my question, what do you or what is suggested for cloning and veg.. in order to run an 8week cycle what equipment do you suggest I get for this hydro setup? should I start off with an ez cloner 60 site and then once rooted move them to a 4x4 or 4x8 tray for veg? honestly I have no clue what I should do for as this hydro op is a whole new world to me coming from a small garage soil grow to a pretty big hydro grow.. I personally didn't want to just head first into a hydro set up like this but it is what the investor wants the investor gets, and as for yield I cant really argue with him, so please help me out with as much info from start to finish on what to do and how I should run this grow, with the goal of being on an 8week cycle using this under current system with a large budget of about 10-15k... and like I said, givin the investors requirements of this under current system, how would you run this grow and what equipment do you suggest? please and thank you, any and all info is greatly appreciated guys, thanks for reading

Achieving an 8 week turn around in proposed system means you have no choice but to veg plants in another system to full size, ready to flip, and then transplant. This is not going to be easy unless you replicate the system, room, space, with at least 4kw of lighting, JUST FOR VEG ROOM, in which case you had may as well double your capacity and use both rooms for flowering, you could of coarse use 45 day flowering period genetics, in which case you have a couple weeks for them to grow in to their new area and system, before inducing flowering, in which case total time from transplant to flowering room and harvest would still only be 8 weeks.

Transplanting to flowering room/system, and switching straight away, is going to cost yield IMHO, the simplest way around this problem would be to up your harvest turn around time to 10 weeks, this way you could use an aero system capable of growing some what large plants, of which there are many, transplant said plants to flowering space, give them 2 weeks veg and then flip lighting period.

You are planning to have 4 plants per 1k light, so I presume you are planning to grow some what large plants, (if not then you need to rethink setup), If you have the capabilities to veg large enough plants to transplant to said system, and switch straight over, without costing yield, then I suggest you veg and flower in BOTH systems/areas as it will actually be more productive.

A. Use 6 week genetics and veg them for 2 weeks in flowering system/room.
B. Change your plans of an 8 week turn around to 10 weeks.

10 week cycle would be fine as long as the over all yield speaks for itself, happy investor= happy me.. Honestly I suggested not to jump into hydro like this but was a necessity for the investor.. I have a 3car garage gutted and ready for work and also have an extra large bedroom for vegging.. so once they are rooted and ready for veg, how many weeks in veg room are you saying, then once I flip the rooms I should allow another 2 weeks of veg in the garage flowering room? thanks a lot for your help man ive been going crazy on what to do as in I only have 2-3 more weeks to get this all setup.. after the cost of flowering room there is a budget of about 5k ... so if we were to switch shoes what would you do from beginning to end? I was thinking as soon as I step in there just get some clones and start to veg them in the flowering room as I set up the Veg room and ez cloner in the house.. Or I may just get a tent for the clones and throw them in garage? but like I said thanks for your input man, much appreciated

If it were me in you're situation I would probably be using soil, but I am guessing thats not what you want to hear, I would also consider flowering in both spaces, you need to consider if this would be more profitable than dedicating 1 space to vegging

I personally take clones 2 weeks in to flower, they take roughly a couple weeks to root, I then veg them for 4 weeks, at which point in time said flowering plants are harvested, I then move said vegged plants into the flowering space, and dry harvest in veg room
I give them plants 2/3 weeks in flower room and the process is repeated, this gives a turn around time of 10/11 weeks, my veg space is only 1/4 the space of flowering room, if you are vegging in a room 1/2 the size then you may be able to get away with less time veg in the flower room without compromising yield
