Can someone link me to the page where people have really nailed down using this for coco?

And what are you guys meaning when you say running it "dirty"

made your way over here from the 'low p myth' thread huh?

same, now it finally comes full circle.

i am also one of those guys with really good tap, never over 100ppm.

Didn't work for us in Coco AT ALL.

Ran it between 400-1200ppm. Had deficiencies all over the place.

Where with others its working beautifly !! I still say theres something at your place thats not letting the V&B work like it should . with me ... it was my water . you ....:dunno:

I used RO water and the Dirty formula. Nothing at my place is incorrect in any way. We have multiple rooms and all are completely fine on other nutes such as Dyna Grow, Advanced and House n Garden.

100% positive it was the nutes.

works great for me in coco, hand watered once a day at 1.2EC(+/-) with tap. biggest problem i have is them growing into the light too fast and getting burned from the bulb.

keep in mind there has been atleast one known bad batch of V+B about a year ago.

Its not the nutes fault. Ive been running this shit for over a year in coco. Reusing the same coco for 4 or 5 times over. The times Ive had a problem were my fault. Ive tried h&g,pbp, gh etc. They all get the job done. You should never blame a nutrient for poor results, period.

Not trying to convince anyone of anything, but for information's sake we are testing with:

- 3 Stage filtered RO (0PPM)
- 50/50 Canna Coco/FF Perlite
- 1G containers and 3G containers
- V&B Dirty with no additives
- pH always between 5.5 - 6.0
- Res temp always between 65F - 70F

Been testing at anywhere from 1.0 - 1.5EC (700-1050PPM) and have noticed no deficiencies what-so-ever. Just flipped the tester tent to 12/12 about a week ago and the plants are just starting their pre flowers, so I won't really have much to update on for the next few weeks. Plants look extremely healthy though.

I can see why your NOT having any Def's . you run a little higher than i do . when i saw defs in veg with it , i was running as low as .5 or .6 .... I bumped it up from there & thats when things straightened out . Any nute i start low & build up , but this stuff is fine from 1.0 & up , even in early veg . i still never go over 2.0 ..... but thats me :)

this stuff is weird in that if your feeding a little to low .... it doesn't show with yellowing leaves & whatnot like most nutes will .... it shows up in weird Defs like K & Mag defs . I think Rives experianced the same thing .
my gorillas ... i was fighting what i thought was a Mag def for over a week , i bumped up the feed to 1.0 & the shit went away overnight ... couldn't believe it .

You mean 1.0ec?

If so you shouldn't find it hard to believe. It's cannabis' natural range. With any N&K heavy blend of nutes, you should always start on 1.0 ec (from a tap of 0.2) from the minute they pop their first leaves.

Welcome to ICMag. It looks like you've been poking around here a while before getting your feet wet!

Since you don't mention your level of experience, I have a couple of suggestions for you to consider. I've found the coco mixes to be much friendlier and more productive than any other media, and it can be re-used several times. I prefer Botanicare ReadyGro Aeration mix, which already has perlite, earthworm castings, etc in it. If you need to be away from your plants for a period of time and don't have a plant sitter (bad idea unless it's someone that you trust implicitly), then you should check out the Blumat thread. They take a little getting used to and some forethought while setting up, but they can be excellent to use. I like airpots - they offer the same root pruning capabilities that smartpots do, but they are more rigid and work better if you move the plants around at all.

Of course, the V+B is my choice for a nutrient, but one thing that can make a huge difference in your success and how quickly you get there is knowing what your water composition is. This is never stressed adequately from what I've seen, and without it you are literally flying blind. If you are on a public utility, they should have a water analysis available for their customers (usually it is on their web site), and if you are on a well you can get your water analyzed through a variety of places including Hydroponic Research.

Holler if you have any questions. That's why most of us are here.

I'm sorry dude , but i'm not giving young seedlings 1.0 EC , that would nearly kill them .

Thanks Dans what do you think of my equipment list? anything missing so far?

No , that actually sounds like a pretty solid plan !!! just make sure your intake air is double the size of your exhaust .... & have good air circulation inside the room . a couple 12" fans on the walls will help .

& for seeds , look at Bog's gear . you won't be disappointed in anything you grab from his stock . SSK , sour bubble, grape punch , sour lifesavor etc ..... god stock , good germ rates , vigorous plants & great smoke !!

Good luck Girl :tiphat:

What are you doing about cooling? 2K watts are going to stack up in that small of a room, and if you are relying on the 6" fan to pull the heat off, I think that it is going to be too small. 6 airpots, but 12 plants? I've got both Phresh and Mountain Air filters, and prefer the Mountain Air. Good luck.
