Security issues

I've noticed several people have mentioned that they canceled their icmag membership and re registered stating security concerns. Has anyone ever had any problems or been "busted" as a result of being active on the forum?

Not me. Then again, they aren't really interested in a personal use grower. I would think a big-time commercial grower would be a bit more concerned. But, the only real worry I have is if someone can smell it while they're at my front door!

lol...If that was directed at me, then I have some bad news for you. I deleted all my pic's of my grows (even macro's) some time ago. But, you can click on my handle/nick and click on my Old Gallery. There are a couple of pic's of a sick plant when I first started out and when IC changed their format at that time I had forgotten about them, else I would have deleted them as well. At best, I'm a mediocre grower (and never claimed otherwise!) and with the tens of thousands of great bud pic's, it just seemed a bit of redundancy to post up my pitiful grows and taking up bandwidth! However, if your intent is to insinuate that another member has ulterior motives, at least have the backbone to come right out and say it!

As for the random web clipart, they aren't random. I chose them with intent. They are just charts and graphs I used in a thread for anyone to look at in larger detail. You'll have to forgive me for my lack of computer skills, though, as I grew up with B&W tv and AM radio! But, your insinuating that that is all that it is, I can post a couple you won't find anywhere else on the web!

Anyone here is more than welcome to view any or all my albums and take note of any contributions to IC I've made, and tbh, that's a bit embarrassing, as I don't like promoting myself all that much, but if you're casting aspersions, you can go fuck yourself...squirt! Have a nice day...

As paranoid as I am, I still believe there is probably nothing to worry about unless you are in excess of 4 lights, actually these days they prob only pay attention to 10k plus growers unless they fall into their laps!

Mr. D. i understand your paranoia, "just because your paranoid dosnt meant they aren't out to get you." that said i think you are a bit dramatic with the accusations, plus think of it this way.. do you really want to antagonize people you think are cops?

wouldn't that make one a bigger target? i get that you are trying to provide a service to us by warning us but you should be pretty darn sure you are right before accusing people of that. and without hard evidence its just a theory. sorry if you feel singled out, thats not my intention.

and if you are accused of being a cop and arent in law enforcement then rest easy knowing the truth and who cares what someone may think. i get that its frustrating, especially to be called a cop but, in the online world you are the only person that truly knows you. hell, in real life you are the only one who really knows you. everyone else just perceives you as someone or type... symantics blah...

everyone should take precautions before doing anything halfcocked, especially something that is quasi legal or illegal on a federal level.
i dont have a dog in this fight going on that involves MR. D and a few others but he did have a good point saying that these online cops are really lonely boring people and they do infiltrate boards like this so have fun but be safe.

heres a little perspective for you on the security issue from the member with the most post and almost 10000 pictures...thats 34000+ post and close to 10000 pics of my grows,take a second and wrap your head around that....i aint worried about icmag in the least,and here i sit,free and only mildly paranoid,no more than is prudent all things considered...
dont worry about icmag,worry about keeping your house in order....

I agree with Unc. I've been a member here since '07...with plenty of grow documentation (as THE PABLOS and as Jericho)...never once have been freaked out for my security. I am but a little fish in the california sea....but when you disagree with certain peeps on here..

I'll ignore the dude...but far as I'm concerned...his credibility on here is a big fat compromise. I do not hide the fact...imo...his different personas need to go. its all relative to one's perception of their own security. there are some folks who don't feel like they need to worry and i think that is great. it takes these types to make a movement (like the cannabis legalization movement or the civil rights movement, which we are still fighting for equality for all people) go forward and become successful. if everyone hid in the closest no progress would be made but not everyone can or feel they can stick their necks out because some people feel they have too much to lose such as property, family, friends, and their trust, safety, and security. i believe someone stated this in another thread but it fits well into this one.
