Seeds from Hermies?

I believe one of my plants hermied in my last grow, which resulted in a few seeds being produced.

If I grow those seeds, will they only produce hermies?

The strain was Durban PoisonxSkunk#1 from Sam the Skunkman- freebie from Gypsy Nirvana. I haven't smoked any of it, but I gave most of it away to my friends and the LOOOOVED it. Heh.

sometimes yes, sometimes no

the only way to find ot, is to grow em out.

feminized seeds/F1's are prdouced like that.

since you write that you believe that one of your plants might have hermies, it leds me to the conclusion that there were no obvious naners/hermies?
Maybe just pollen in the air from anotehr male around? cannabis pollen can fly far.

Hello Krusty,

Yeah, those seeds are well known for being hermies-that is if you can get them to go at all.

I would not waste your time and energy (money) on them. And the risk of ruining your next crop with hermie pollen is not attractive either.

I was pondering the same thing about seeds from hermies. I had a Bubba Kush that had some male flowers that opened and probably caused a few seeds to grow in my Sweet Afghan Delight aka Black Dominia s1. Got busy during the holidays so I didn't have time to examine my plants daily like I normally do. Next time I got a chance to properly look them over I could see the empty sacs towards the bottom of the plant I had two different phenos of SAD that I could see a few seeds starting to form. I find it kind of funny when I hear people on these forums getting all bent out of shape over a few seeds popping up. I know somebody out there has some interesting stories of premium buds for hermie seeds. So chime in and don't be shy! SAD x Bubba sounds intriguing to me. Im going to salvage as many good seeds as possible and pop them sometime in the future. Im no expert grower by any ones standard. Im just a hobbyist who enjoys growing weed. I have made just about every kind of fuck up you can image(more coming soon!) but Im a better grower for those fuck ups.

They will be feminized seeds and grow just fine.

Any hermie traits will depend on the genetics of the plant they came from. I have had great plant grow from self pollinated plants with zero problems. I have also had pretty significant hermie problems with others.

Only one way to find out!

i keep a couple of tasty strains that throw a few male flowers early, like a survival trait, and make maybe a dozen seeds. i consider them in a different category from the raging pollenate-everything 50/50 hermies.

one of those strains came from commercial bagseed, so someone else didn't mind it either.

I had some OG Kush Hermie seeds - pretty sure of it - grew those and they hermied out and pollinated my green crack at the time.

I ran 12 seeds - all popped and all 12 seeds turned out to be female.

I had only 2 plants with hermie issues.

If you want to check out my thread in my signature and the album labeled Cush x OG Kush - Green Crack OG - you can see some hermie seeds from sprout to bag.

Like RonSmooth says - its hit or mis and genetically variable - so if you know the genetics and shit you might come out good but I was a newbie who just got lucky as fuck...

You could always eat the seeds! Cannabis seeds aka hemp seeds are extremely healthy for our diets!

Heres my all time favorite pictures I took... and it was from a hermie seed

Damn this Bubba had more male flowers than I thought! Seeded itself pretty good. This particular Bubba def was not going to be a keeper, but I wonder what are the chances of me finding a keeper within some of her seeds. Like a couple of people had stated "only one way to find out." I just wanted a few to chime in with a positive outcome so it would not just be a total waste of time. I grow for a hobby to pass time anyways so any time I spend in my garden is usually time well spent! Thanks to all of you that chimed in!!!!!

I have 2 seeds off of my white jones going this time that could have been pollenated by: itself, pure AK, white berry, or bubblelicious. I suspect it could be the pure AK, or whiteberry. They started late and thus are untopped. I inspect every watering(4 days) and so far so good. Getting frosty and looking good. Since I have the SSSDH/SC going too, I'm checking those more closely. I'll post up their photos in the CSG grow as we go along. Now at the end of 4th week of flower. So far worth the effort.

So, if your plant hermied because it got too hot the offspring could be very prone to hermies under the slightest heat stress, etc, etc

Some of the best stuff I ever grew came from a sketchy seed.

The seed was a result of a feminized Blue Rhino pollinating a feminized Jack Herer hybrid.

The resulting plant was great but threw male flowers during flowering. I thought I had it controlled but I missed a few and some buds will literally have 20 seeds in them. Not every one is like that but its just not a good look. Not worth it when there are so many possibilities I havent tried.

I got two clones I am going to flower within the next couple of weeks so I decided to pop some OG/Skunk x Bubba Kush hermie seed for the hell of it. Think Ill pop some HOL Casey's Queen and Grapefruit x ST#3 seeds also. Don't have much veg time this run because they got to come down in the beginning of June. Ill let you all know how I went.

It really depends on why the plant hermied. The seeds will ofc be 100% female if your female plant hermied. ( if male hermies the seeds are 100% male, but you most likely had females :) )

If the plant hermied because of stress then the seeds will be okay but you will have to be careful that you do not stress the plants as they are very sensitive about that.

if the plant hermied because of genetics then this genetic is passed on to seeds and they will also hermie.

I want to show an example of self made seeds like I mentioned before. They are OJD whites jones by I don't know. Grew them out with 11 weeks of flowering in organic soil. They were untopped and very frosty with no ball sacks whatsoever. You can make your own female seeds by mistake and the product can be very nice. I'll let you know how they some after the dry and cure. Very frosty.

I had a plant hermi on me and so I used all the seeds for an outdoor run and everyone was a female and produced some nice buds...just my 2 cents!

I agree, I have grown many a seed from plants that tossed random nanners and have had success in them being female without hermi traits :)

Well popped 5 of my accidental cross Ocean Grown Bubba Skunk and they are the most vigorous plants this round. Although I have always heard that Casey Queen was a slow vegger. There's some Grapefruit x Swt#3 in there vegging as well. The Bubba def seems to dominate in this cross from what I've noticed so far. Just looks like the other strain just added more vigor. Only time will tell.
