well, believe it or not, we have a very respected and loving member here who once shared a personal abduction story, no anal probe included though.
he's never in the alien related threads though, it'd be the worst place to re-tell such story, considering how much everybody seems to know about everything that is real and is not...

Sooner or later you can take your thoughts and ideas and slap somebody in the face with them so hard, that they forget they ever hated on L.E.D.s, or anything new that you present.
So back it up hard, and also recognize the caveats and the misnomers that you know about a subject already.
Like L.E.D.s produce almost as much heat, but it's not encased in a bulb-envelope acting as an insulator and is direct-contact and actively-cooled. They also put out less IR, so water in the plant is actually less heated up with L.E.D.s, then a normal spectrum bulb.
