Strangest smelling or tasting weed you've smoked

Would love to hear what people have experienced.

I got a few seeds from a local amateur breeder that never really amounted to much. One seed I grew out smelled and tasted like an old musty basement. Lots of houses built in the 40's-50's had half finished basements with exposed earth. So it was always musty and a little lemony from disinfectant, almost all basements of this type smelled the same.

We called it basement weed.

anything strange or out of the norm should be trecked on with caution... especially if there was exposed earth in the musty basements (as this can easily promote dangerous molds to inhibit your precious buds). I know exactly what youre talking about though! It's like this musty lemony smell that's very signature-like. I haven't come across it in a bit since I started growing my own meds but I wouldn't mind lighting up a pack of that stuff one more time... lol

No lie Team.

I was blazing with my (adult) daughter and her friend whose boyfriend grew grew the weed and I got a flaming hit of pure mold.

YAAAKKKK!

Put me off smoking completely. (until an hour later when I brought out MY stuff.)

I had to learn that gal up on how to dry and cure so she could tell her boyfriend how to go about it because it's possible to get some serious lung infections from spores of mold.

It broke my heart to junk one donkey dick cola of my own that got moldy on the tree but I won't ever think about smoking it.

Here are some dry shots of Angola x Panama. The smell of the crushed buds is a sweet flower smell with a touch of astringent bubblegum and dare I say, a hint of vagina. A truly lovely aroma.

Ya gross, I bet moldy weed tastes horrible.

The "basement weed" was grown beautiful, along with a couple other plants. It was grown in a clean, well ventilated grow area. The other strains tasted and smoked great also. The strange smell and taste was all natural, just strange.

KGB, was from an imported Afghan seed, grown in the ground 35 years ago to yield a 6 foot tall plant. Not only did it smell just like rotten meat when fresh, but if you got the resin on your skin it made you break out in welts. If you got any resin in your eye from your hands, you were blinded for hours. It had to be manicured fresh wearing thin plastic gloves except that working over the fresh plants was like chopping onions, it made you cry. Or let it dry first, that stopped most of the problems with the resin from manicuring. it was a very strong narcotic, physical, couch-lock high. No problems with rolling or smoking it, except I did not like the "high" at all. I wonder if we would of vaped a hit of fresh weed would it have hurt our lungs? I will never know....

Had a real dense, well cured OD strain that used to go around my neck of the woods in the mid to late 90's we called Stinky Socks lol. Kind of a mix between smelly socks and apricots was the best I could describe it then. Good weed, tasty and like I said, well cured, but weird smell. Smoked a lot of strange tasting brick weed around those years too haha. Ya never know with brickweed bammer!
I'll never forget a batch of Sour D I got several years back, that was kinda greyish with pink pistils with some STRONG lemonade/fuel/and skunk DANKness! In a sea of Sour d's, that shit was an island lol.

Sometime about 7 or 8 years ago there was some commercial herb going around that had the taste of chili powder. The buzz wasn't special, it looked like plain chunky commercial, but had this peppery chili taste. It wasn't amazing by any means, but quite unique.

had a unknown cut of a supposed cheese, and it smelled exactly like beef stew!! we threw it out and later i read somewhere that colorado has a clone only called beef stew,, lol… nasty..

I've got some LUI x Blue Moonshine F2's that will spit out a Camphor/Vicks-Vap-O-Rub smelling pheno sometimes when fresh. Doesn't carry over to the cure, but it will open up your nose when fresh!

Had some weed once that reminded me of burning tires. Don't know what it was, but it was fire.

got a go 18 that has the vicks vaporub smell when its hanging,, just as u said tho, it goes away by time its dry,, then transforms into FUEL

I smoked apple weed in the late 80's, strongly smelled of apples. It was one of the first domestically grown strains I smoked.

I had a female Mexican sativa hermie and pollinate one of Nirvana's unknown females. The bud smelled like corn bread while growing and slightly so when cured in a glass jar. Buzz was mostly indica with a slight head lift. It had a little bit of a corn or rather a corn feed, mealy type taste when smoked. Plant was stocky and bright green in color.

I have some auto Haze that tastes like . . . tractor grease. at times also tastes like Kiwi shoe polish. tasty though, very unique, very potent. perhaps this is called a diesel?

I grew a pack of Sensi Northern Lights sometime around 2002. I got four females from the pack, two of which produced the strongest tasting buds I've ever had. Not strange, really, just an overwhelming pleasant weed taste that seemed to last forever. It didn't have the highest potency or the best high, but it was the best tasting bud I've ever had. All my friends who tried it agreed. No dealer ever sold me something like that.

Ok I have had pure bubblegum where it was strange. I mean I've had hints of it before, but this tasted like.....tooooooooo much.


Also about 2 months ago some smelled like piss. LOL

I said "ya sometimes it smells that way. nothing is wrong with it."

he said "ya, I know"

I said "there's a strain out there called catpiss, and special phenotypes and stuff."

he says "oh really? man that's kind of weird."

Then I declared "my god though, this really smells like straight cat piss. LIKE A LOT"
