For those of you following the thread, I was going to grow out 100 extra OG's and Cookies but 30 of them died when i was out of town for a week. :cuss: From the survivors i selected the most vigorous plants, 25 each of the OG and Cookies, and put them in a brand new 5x9 Gorilla tent. Even got new digi ballasts and ushio bulbs :woohoo:

They were transplanted from the red cups into 1-gallon grow bags with my medium of choice Botanicare Readygro Aeration Formula.

I will be using flood trays in this tent too, but I still need to go to the lumberyard and get cinderblocks to hold the trays.. So in the meantime, after transplanting I handwatered them with 7ml/gallon House&Garden Cocos A&B, and 1ml/gallon Thrive Alive. Then placed them on the floor of the tent for a few days until i get the trays set up.

I put them on 12/12 immediately after transplant. One of these pictures shows the 25 OG's immediately after being transplanted and handwatered, the next picture is the new tent, taken on day 3 of flowering. The plants on the left side are OG, and Cookies on the right. I still have to get the trays and nets up, this is just temporary. Stay tuned as i show y'all how i set up a tent from the beginning.

Tent Setup

Tent Setup

As i said before i love these Gorilla Tents. I set up the most recent one by myself, and took some pictures for you guys. The whole process took about an hour.

the space before Construction:

As you can see, the entire tent comes in a huge duffel bag made of the same heavy shiny material. These duffel bags are amazing, you can easily fit 15-20 pounds of weed in them. An added bonus for me, as i purchased a tent not a duffel bag:

The metal tent poles and joints are thick and sturdy. They come neatly organized, although they never stay that way once i get into the bag:

Like any grow tent, the first thing to do is set up the frame. Unlike any grow tent, the Gorilla tent frames are 8 feet tall and almost touch the rafters in my garage:

Once the frame is up you put the insulated ceiling on top, yes these Gorilla tents are insulated:

And the last step, zipper the ceiling to the body of the tent. Gorilla tents have a few velcro strips sewn on which can be used to fasten the body to the ceiling while zipping them together so that one person can set it up themselves.

Now we need the plants. Putting 25 OG's in the black tray and 25 Cookies in the white tray:

And finally, the trellis goes up. With the reservoirs filled and timers set, I dont need to look at this tent for 2 weeks.

It took about 10 hours of solo work to get that tent humming. work is:
- tent assembly
- transplants
- hanging lights and fans
- setting up cinderblocks, trays and fittings, pumps and timers,
- spraying for bugs
- trellising
-filling reservoirs, mixing nutrients

It will probably require another 4-6 hours of maintenance work total before harvest..... Add in trimming and cleanup and you have maybe about 40 hours of work total to get that 2kw tent set up, grown, and harvested......

Everything looks great. Thanks for the lowdown on your setup too. 40 hours of work doesn't seem too bad for 2k!

How tall are those SOG ladies? That tray looks like it is gonna put out. :)

The SOG ladies have grown quite a bit, probably about 2 feet tall now. they were 6-8 inches tall when i flipped them. I will take some pictures tonight with the lights on.

Its crazy that harvest is only 5 weeks away, the time is flying. After this i have to start vegging my plants for my light-dep outdoor coco garden in the spring. So far have these strains picked out for spring light-dep:

25x Cherry Pie
25x Hardcore OG
25x OG Headcheese (lookin at you Arminius haha)

but yah i still need to decide on a few more strains. i sure wish i could get my hands on some Gorilla Glue #4, it seems to be everything a grower could want. I heard about some Berry White clones that are available, if anybody has experience with that strain feel free to speak up haha

quiet in here.... tumbleweeds...

These are looking GREAT, I love the setup. Does the GSC tent reek yet? Mmm, cookies.
I'm sub'd and coming along for the ride a little late.

I am probably going to do this exact setup next location.

Everything looks so simple...I love it!

Quick question though....what exactly are you using for your reservoirs?

thanks

thanks! It is a pretty bulletproof setup, i have left it for 2 weeks several times. For the reservoirs i get these heavy-duty 45gallon tubs from Home Depot. These are very sturdy and they cost half the price of a 40gallon botanicare reservoir and lid.

ALso, Sometimes Home Depot is out of those, so I will just get one of their 50gal Sterilite tubs and put it inside a 45Gal Rubbermaid tub for extra support. sounds weird but it works and is cheap$$ Like So:
Me7Lf94.jpg

OF course, if money is no object, then go ahead and buy the nice botanicare reservoirs. they are shorter which means more room for plants. I have had some of these cheap plastic tubs leak once or twice, and its not fun.

mini vacation in the 831

Mountain life gets lonely sometimes, so I drove out to Santa Cruz for a couple days to train Brazilian JuJitsu and smoke weed on the beach. I can't believe it's winter, its 80 fuckin degrees. Cute girls everywhere. Beautiful women tend to live in beautiful places. Go figure.
