Growing in N. Ohio, How many weeks of flowering do I have?

Hey yall,

Kind of a simple question here. I am growing outside in Northern Ohio and am currently looking through strains to purchase. All strains have a flowering time in their description from ex. 6-12 weeks...

So my question is with my location in Northern Ohio. What is my flowering range in weeks that I should be looking for when purchasing seeds??

Thanks!

thanks! i def enjoy the sativa high, but with my location its not possible to grow pure sativas... any suggestions on strains i can grow in my area with very sativa like highs?

currently one of my picks is outdoor c99 by female seeds x-line from seedboutique... any other recommendations?

" maybe some bog gear"????? as in Bushy Older Grower, BOG seed company?

dont think just bc something is labeled 'outdoor' that it is better for outdoor growing.

most of the stuff that is labeled as outdoor is for northern eu growers who cant go past mid sept at the latest. the genetic is usually low thc

If i were you id go for something that was done sooner than later. the more time a plant sits outside the more chance something bad can happen.

Also you cant assume bc a pack of seeds says 8 weeks that it will be done in 8 weeks outside, outdoor plants dont grow on the same schedule as indoors bc they react to the onset of flowering at diff time based on genetic , not lights on and off inside. So for example green crack can go indoors 55 days and its pick-able, yet outside it takes till mid october for gc to finish, does this make sense?

imo you want a genetic that fits into what you desire from the cannabis plant. flavors? highs? as long as you dont grow a sativa dominant youll be fine.

im not too far from you, southeast michigan. used to grow outside before we became legal..i would stay away from 10+ strains.. even on ten weekers u never get a great finish most of the times..are autumns are too unpredictable these days.. stick with indies or indie dom hybrids. if i ever went back to the great outdoors i would probably go apeshit with a bubba or bubba cross, great for mold resistance in our parts.. um, u said u like sativas,, def a hard one in ohio,,try dna/reservas canna lope kush, it finishes in 8 weeks. its half c. haze x og18 i think.. mold is the biggest reason i hate outdoors. basically, anything that grows big colas is gonna get rot, i hate it.. anyhow, i would definitely go with any good 8-9 weaker, with golfball style nuts, for some reason i never see a hint of mold on them…any bubba, master, alien, deep chunk, affie will do great,, chems ogs n diesels are great for mold also with ur sativa style highs,, just a huge crapshoot getting the proper finish… hope i helped some..
