I got the last neg rep in before they took it away from us! Some of you guys bitch all day about neg reps. Did you really think they weren't going to take them away. I thought they were kind of fun. It was fun while it lasted but everything comes to an end.

yes indeed
but now we even get to know who the kind soul is who's taken time out to disagree with us (they might even have said why). at least that way such kind people can be justly and fully rewarded for their time and energy spent disagreeing. after all we can agree to disagree if we know who disagrees LOL.
There seem to be a few different interpretations of the "helpful yes/no" options that are located on the right side of the screen. I see that "no" is no longer offered, only yes. So, my comment here is more about what used to be.
The way I treated the yes/no thing was like I was an observer at some event, let's just say a comedy routine by some comic. In these situations, the audience will routinely voice it's feelings, either by lauging/clapping to show they like what was just said, or by giving a "boooooo" if they didn't like what was said. More often than not, there is laughing/clapping, but not always. It wasn't nearly serious enough to actually leave a comment to the poster, which almost certainly would raise the ire of the person. Seems like a lot of folks took these "yes/no" votes as being a bigger thing than I did.
But, now there ain't no no over there...so it no longer matters...

back to Plan A, the usual when so deserving. don't happen often.
I really don't like to acknowledge neg reps in public, was tough to get around that in a thread about neg reps though.

Hmm... I like the fact that it reduces the all-around negativity factor, but at the same time, I did find it to be somewhat useful when, say, someone posted their opinion on a specific growing method/technique that may be absolutely bonkers and blatantly wrong - a handful of people downvote that post, then it lets unknowing folks know that there's a good chance they are indeed full of crap - Therefore, helping to spread less misinformation across the canna interweb. Easy to assume that's what the system was originally put in place for...
But, I suppose this will just call for more direct conversation, yes?

Spot on HoldinSo now someone could post misinformation on a subject and get neg rep/downvoted by using the scales but only the person who posted the misinformation and the neg repper/downvoter would know about this and other viewing members wouldnt know the info was incorrect or does it show up at the bottom of the post and say for instance 1 member found this post unhelpful.
If im understanding this correctly then this is the only downfall i see at the min.
