Hello. I haven't been up and going for a couple years now. I will soon finally have my dream spot and am starting to think about designs!

Long story short. I am a huuugee fan of the infamous Heath Robinson and have followed his stuff and read through most (all) of his posts.

My favorite of his, is the octagon style using (1) 600w light getting 2.14gpw (46 oz from 1 600w) ( I would love to link to his grow but its on another forum and I don't think its allowed.)

So I want go to flooded vertical like Heath but I'm having trouble with a 'how to' so to speak. I am good at building, just no experience designing. He used a 6 x 9 area to get 2 lbs... He gets good gpw but maybe there's a better usage of space? Just thinking out loud.

Thanks.

ps: I will have 2 setups going. One will be dedicated to finding Toms acid pheno. Which is going to be a 16+ week project per grow. I have a bedroom or 2 for the setup.

Well Bro.....You`ve come to the right place as far as knowledge on ALL setups my close Bro of many yrs EVER ran , but....

That particular setup`s NFT "continuous feed" 24/7 and unless you`ve got intermediate skills in fast hydro situations , I`d suggest not goin with it until more runs under yer belt , but again.....

Far be it from me to discourage anyone from what they wanna dive head first into....and yeah...I`m not sure where those pics you posted came from , but no pics from care bear island are allowed over here if the cabana`s where they came from , or at least that used to be the rules....dunno...now.....

That particular system had all the tubes fed from above and gravity drained back down to a "sump rez" that once full tripped an "electric" float swith that pumped all residual juice back to the main rez constantly mixing and being pumped back up top vertically to continue the flow underneath the roots inside the tubes....anyways....

Holler if I can help...

Peace....DHF....:ying:.....

DHF I think that thread is from the rollitup weed site. I believe that is where Heath Robinson posted his NFT system w/ 600 watts, though of course I could be mistaken.

Agreed that NFT could be a bit of a challenge. How about a weed donut w/ blumats + coco? It seems if you're looking NFT it'd be easy to do them since it seems you're not concerned about plant counts.... could do 6-8 around each 600...

Hey man. Thanks for posting. Ive seen your name every where. Im getting myself into a situation where I will have a extra bedroom or so to myself. For the past 2 hours or so I've been reading lots on organic soil and blumats. Ive done the hand watering thing for a while and its a fucking pain in the ass to say the least. Plus mixing gallon at a time of nutes. I've also done dwc but have had nute def. issues.

Those pics are from the legendary heath robinson himself. His octagon. The problem I have with it is its 'low' 2 or so lbs from a 6 x 9 area.

I was inspired by Aerokrafters Galactic grape thread I opted to get some of those seeds which have been sitting around..

Anyways. As of now I'm onto either going simple with a aeroflo or trying this dirt mix:

Begin this soil mix by adding one bag each of Foxfarm Original, Foxfarm Ocean Forest, and Foxfarm Light Warrior. To this mix, add 1 level cup of Foxfarm Peace of Mind 5-8-4 and mix well. I usually begin my plants in the smallest dixie cups I can find, in my seed starting mix. After that, I transplant into a 6 inch container of this mix. Two or three weeks later, I transplant into a 12 inch container. Finally, right as I switch to flowering, I make my final transplant to the next size container (usually a three gallon one). Most of the nutrients are used up by the time I begin flushing them, so it works out well.

I got myself 40 Tom hills origonal haze and am looking for that infamous pheno. I will do that project in 1 tent and have a more ummm reasonable? grow in another tent.

I like the idea about coco and have some reading up to do on it.

Lotta folks at other places killin it with coco and blumats runnin maxi`s for big plants and the regular size for increased plant numbers and/or donuts.....

Aerokrafter`s a knowledgeable grower , so if yas go that route just start a thread in hydro forum and hit him up....I grew many many yrs in fast hydro setups with all the bells and whistles , and I ended up putting all my eggs in 1 basket with coco FTW.....but.....

Coco`s a fickle bitch ta dial without a copy of the rules concerning CEC and several other factors such as "type" of coco to use , but it`s well doable and yields comparably to hydro once dialed....anyways....

Do some homework and get back to us.....Always gladta help...
