Trip to Laos & Vietnam

Hey there,

These summer I am planning to go on a trip to

Spain (origin)->Hong Kong->Then Laos & Vietnam

My question are .......
How are the laws there?
Are Seeds legal (not weed)?
IS it easy to find seeds?
Where is the best region to go seed hunting (I already have a plan but if it is on the way I might stop)?
How could I bring seeds back if coming back through Hong Kong? Would regular mail be a good method?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think dubi from ACE seeds would be good person to invite in this thread, dont know about dubi´s personal traveling experiences, but he sure does have some valuable location info considering S.E Asia :wink:

Do a search with "Dalat" and check those threads, one of them includes some good info about ganja hotspots in Vietnam :wink:

I've been to Vietnam twice although im only 20 years old. I don't think they have very friendly laws towards any drugs and i wasnt able to find any herb of good quality. I was also with a person who speaks fluently and he told me not to bother looking for any.

In my opinion, I would NOT even dare to touch any part of the cannabis plant in any S.E. Asian country.

Laws in countries from Indonesia/Malaysia/Singapore to the Phillippines, China, and Indo-China have nothing less than life sentences and death penalties even for just simple possession (seeds are worse because they can convict you as a drug trafficker).

Putting your life, or even half your life from a prison sentence is not worth the risk. So please, stay safe and just enjoy your trip without the smoke.

As for Spain, its legal to a certain degree to cultivate and possess cannabis for personal use, however, it is illegal to buy or sell.

It's nice from you to remind us the laws in SE Asia but I think the guy asked for advices from people who HAVE travelled there.. and anyone who has travelled in Laos (4 trips, 3/4 months each time for me) knows that weed is everywhere and, OF COURSE with just a little bit of cleverness, you won't have any problems smoking weed or whatever there... Try to avoid Tuk Tuk drivers in Vientiane cause they often sell bad quality (though they can be very helpful sometimes, when you come from Thailand by the friendship bridge and that you're dry), be careful and act wisely.. I'd rather recommend you to go to Luang Prabang, vang vieng for a first relax discovering of the area.. and then GO TO LUANG NAM THA !!!! up north you'll find what you're looking for (whatever it is !).... MY FAVOURITE COUNTRY of all times... you'll LOVE it.

Firstly, I have been to China, Phillippines, and Indonesia. And as a word of advice, I recommended him to stray away from cannabis in that part of the world at all costs.

Of course, I care about the safety of those that find cannabis a hobby, because I too, share the same interest. Again, as you mentioned, there are the few minority that smoke and cultivate cannabis in those regions, but as someone to ask advice on a forum about where and what, it's obvious that it won't be a safe play altogether.

In my opinion, if I were to travel to Asia, I keep the smoke at home. In conclusion, feel free to do as you wish. We all take risks in this game, but like I said, you cannot put a price on your freedom and liberty, and in general, your life.

Hey Turbo, hope I didn't sound agressive or whatever in my post cause this was far to be my intention.. my apologies if it sounded like that.. Besides, I can only agrre 100% with you on that point of safety, and especially on the fact that nobody should risk his life just to have a smoke !!! But (as a lurker only, see my post count!) i often see on ICmag in the Worldwide forum, that some people say bullshit about some countries where they never went even once but only know that the laws are strict on cannabis... well, travelling is sometimes the only way to make an opinion and the reality "on place" (don't know if that's english) is sometimes very different, in practice that is.. enough said, let's TRAVEL and make our own opinions, and GO EAST ! like Laos for example..

Go to Vang Vieng in Laos, it's a stoners dream place... not much law officers if any... all the resturants offer weed. you can find contacts over there...

If you like shrooms it is a great place for it too.
