I learned how to grow from Overgrow back in 2000 / 2001. I posted lots of pics there too, but I still have them backed up somewhere. I think. It would have been awesome if someone had downloaded and backed up the whole site before it was shut down.

Can anyone say Shark Tank... when the going got rough in a thread off to the tank it went...had to have a bit of a thick skin back than with the flames rolling

I also have some very fond memories of OG

Hehe i loved the shark tank, wasted many a night reading through it, and raging.... it´s not always a bad thing to get older (if you get wiser too ) i still have shoeboxes filled with paper printouts from overgrow, I didnt have a computer back then so printed the threads out at school and read them when i got home

But i mostly miss some of the people that disapeared with overgrow, not everyone found a new home

wonder what happend to Shabang, anyone know if his Dank Ass Bitch is still about? was one of the first super elusive elite internet hyped clones

And Strawdog, fuck I actualy miss him, was always a good laugh reading his posts

Overgrow was awesome in every way, it was revolutionary, never before had there been a worldwide online community of growers sharing knowledge instantly with each other. I used to visit Overgrow when it first started and for most days up until it's demise, I was a mentor there for a few years as well.....but I look back with a great deal of fondness at the first 3 or 4 years and at the wonderful positive energy that was generated there...then it got too big and things changed, it went from a town to a city. If Amsterdam is our "Mecca" then Overgrow.com was our cyber version of "Woodstock" and the positive vibrations and change that was the late sixties and early seventies.

In some ways, the community is just beginning to re-learn some of the info that was lost... while still not done un-learning some info they should have. lol

I romped around at OG & learned ALOT. Miss that place, for sure. Still overgrowing though.....throwing seeds into parks and other palces from time to time. Still an outlaw too....unfortunately.

Found IC shortly after the shutdown. I was invited to another site, that required an invite. When I 1st hit the site, there was only a couple hundred people there, now it' alot bigger. I REALLY liked that site but it began to lose that "small town" feel, so I haven't been back in awhile.

Memories always get better with age don't they? Loved OG. Mr. Soul took me under his wing. He even told me not to buy his most expensive seeds but to start with a pack of his cheapest seeds to learn with. That's a Dude now. Good people.
