I was very lucky this guy was my angel.

I remember the first time I tried DMT, he was right next to me. It was a cold winter and I was in the attic of my friends moldy house. I took a hit and it started getting very dark and evil feeling. I was kinda scared and I just looked at all these shadows and said "well fuck you, hes darker than all of ya" and rested my head on my black puppy and everything got cool.

Re: "A picture is worth a thousand words."

This is worth two pictures! One of Butch and one of his brother.

Will try to do later tonight.

I feel ya on that one. Looks like im finally gonna get some tattoos to carry them with me for the rest of my life.

Dude I am very sorry to read why you're dealing with. All the best

I'm with out words, Keep The faith...

Thanks, Im trying, I always here you gotta give to get, so maybe the universe has something awesome in store for me.

Honestly the times we spent together on the longboard are the best every.

Tripping while your dogs pulling ya through the rain, it doesn't get much better than that.

Dogs are good animals.

Amen.

Thanks again everyone, it means alot to me and its helping me get the tears out.

Sorry, my post was more metaphorical than actual. If your dog felt that much for you, you can't be all that bad of a man! :tiphat: Don't get me wrong, would love to see pic's of the "wascally wascal" and if you have any, please do post a couple!

Sorry to hear that bro........ Dogs are family 'round here, and I've lost a couple for the wrong reasons over the years. So I definitely feel your pain. Just try and remember the good times, the things he taught you, things you taught him. Sounds like a great pup, that had a great life :friends:

Oh my god, that's awful... so sorry for your loss. Animals can be amazing with what they teach us sometimes just by getting to witness them live their lives... and the company and love that they can give us, can be life saving sometimes. Sometimes the hardest thing is that their short lifespans but that also helps us more strongly appreciate the short time we have with them, and helps us better appreciate our own short lives. HL I've always appreciated reading your perspectives and philosophies of life, and it sounds like you're holding yourself up in an admirable way. You'll always have so many great memories of Butch. Stay strong bud

Hey y not chu, I am not on IG, i guess I should join. I dont live in the bay anymore, but I have a nephew on the way so I will be visiting more often. Might have a wedding in the midwest during the HT cup, so not sure I will make it down to that one.

I did not know Derek for nearly as long as you, but he definitely touched my heart.

His kindness and generosity was the inspiration for naming my dog after him. Im glad that you found this, I was hoping some of his other friends IRL might eventually see this.

Were you searching the net or IC when you found this thread?

Butch the dog was a lab pit mix or lab rot mix, Ill try to get some photos up. I saw your dogs on staigr.am and they have a similar look. Thanks for reaching out and making contact bro I appreciate it.

U should make an ig to see my pits. I have a 12 year old pit named snoopy. When Derek used to love snoopy
. We used to bring snoopy out on our adventures. Snoopy just had his first liter 11 weeks ago and I kept 3 of them I currently have 6 dogs in the house and it's hard to take care of all of them. Initially I wanted to keep all 6 but I feel like the chances of my friend finding this page by randomly Google Derek Butch San Francisco om his boredom time makes me feel like there is a reason we should reach out . I would be honored to give u snoopy pup who's 11 weeks old. This puppy of mine re reminds me much of derek. Please I could think of a better home for this dog and Derek would really appreciate this.
