Its not bad, but not outstanding - to me anyway. Plenty of folks like the smell and color, they get done right. For me, not sure if Id say 'keeper'. Im running a couple again to make sure. Big NWT in the front and BMs #3,4 in the plantry - which is looking empty right now. Lotsa rooted clones and only 2 plants.

All 6 plants over both crosses are close enough in flavor to know the Ortega dominates. There are some differences, mostly subtle. I really got to get a proper report up.

Up to 11 - 1 under our limit. 2 will go in when all the SLHxMMs are done.

All 5 BBxC99 F2s cracked :D and plugged.

All in 1.6 gal pots.

NWT #1 - 3.8
#2 - 4

BM #1 - 2.2
#2 - 3.3
#3 - 2.5
#4 - 2.3

Pics of NWT somewhere here - BMs to come.

Gotta run

OK! Let me start by saying that my ph was horrible throughout the grow of all these plants - around 5.0! The nanners and lower yields on BM I will take as totally my fault.

Flowered under 1600 w, mixed bulbs, promix/vermiculite/perlite, FF at less than recommended doses (now at 1/2 dose and almost completely cut out the powders), occasional guano top feeds.

Environment had 60+% rh for all of NWT and 1/2 of BM. BM finished in mid 50%s. High temps hovered near or at 80* to start and gradually dropped to mid 70*s by BMs chop. Lows temps were low 70*s to mid/upper 60*s at the end.

All were very easy to grow/manage. Left alone I think they would all make BIG central colas. No mold regardless of humidity. As a whole, the plants have the same flavor. There are subtle differences that in most cases are hard to describe. The base flavor is very old school - perhaps juniper but not piney. Again my screw up is probably masking the nuances.

NWT - These are my favorites overall. They taste good and have a nice stone. They are a little harsh but not cough inducing. Its hard to discern them apart except that one purpled much more heavily than the other.

NWT #1 - Topped once early. 3.8 oz in 1.6 gal. Around 9 weeks.

NWT #2 - Topped twice? 4 oz in 1.6 gal. About 9 1/2 weeks.

BM - Lost my 1st pop with these :dunno: 2nd round wasn't allowed to veg as long as the NWTs. #1 has a great bag of tootsie rolls flavor as the joint gets 1/2 smoked. Smooth and if I do cough, very strong head and body rush. The head drops into the body and rides out. #2 is one I just don't like - low flavor and harsh. #3 has been developing in cure nicely. Has that cross-strain dominating flavor I mentioned in the post above. Gives me a pleasant boot to the head, turning it down low. Nice! #4 also has a punch but the flavor just isn't.

Again all in 1.6 gal.

BM #1 - 2.2 oz. 8 weeks.

I don't believe I will keep any of these long term - but I am growing 3 of the plants out a 2nd time before I make a final decision. Ill have a new, updated report on those when the Bodacious babes are done.

Sorry for lagging behind but there really wasn't anything to show. Lights off temps are dropping below 60 w a heater. Partner says hes picking up 1 of those oil jobbies today, we'll see. Its been snowing since yesterday and we aren't supposed to break 10* today. Needless to say, the plants (particularly these) aren't liking it - at all.

After sexing, these plants never really got completely back into veg mode which seems to have also had an effect.

Welcome SG1

They were overwatered by a flush, hopefully the leaves will level out. My other plants aren't doing this.

Thanks SG1 :) Notice how 1 side is really fuzzy? I thought the lens was dirty, turns out its the heat from my hand that does that. Gonna try holding the loupe to the cam with rubber bands so that doesn't happen.

I think Ive got the cold licked. Root zone is staying above 60* lights off and about 70* lights on.

And now Ive got the means to measure ph accurately. Tomorrow I should be taking my 1st measurement of whats coming out the bottom of the pots. Im looking forward to that revelation.

60F at the floor is just fine, rarely in nature does soil below 6" exceed 60F

I wouldn't put 100% faith in ph readings.
Well balanced organics keeps it's own PH properly balanced.
Adding any soil conditioner can lead to other problems.

Ya I turned the heater down a bit tonight and will check again in the a.m. It was getting too warm up in the canopy for my liking.

Really, Ive been blundering through the last couple of years. The ph pen is going to make a huge difference. The full dose of FF nutes brings my ph down to 4.7. The only thing that didn't totally screw me the 1st year was bubbling my water overnight. Tap ph is 7.8 - 7.9 and that raised it to 8.9 - 9. I stopped doing that when my counter filled up with gurgling gallon jugs.

Adding organics and watering with teas is something Im looking into, but this isn't just my grow and my partner wants FF. Ill get more into that in 4x3x2.

Gonna stick with my basic altered Promix mix, though Im probably going to buy something less expensive as a base as Promix just went up $3/bag.
