Is 100% organic possible?

Vegan would have the least pollution, possibly. You never know what the animals are having put through their system. Although most medications are metabolized by the time poo'd out. The metabolites are in question as that would take a lot of research.

I wouldn't pick plants for fermented plant extracts next to a highway or industrial/residential zone. Never know what people are pumping into the ecosystem.

But of course the fish and seaweed used absorb these contaminants. As well as anything in the ground. I'm wondering if it's possible to grow all contaminants out of my soil and produce truly organic meds. You're right easy it would take a lot of research...

but are there different levels of "pureness" , absolutely.

clay pots vs plastic
rainwater vs. filtered
manure vs. inorganic derived manure
watering "jug" from glass / clay / wood ( who knows what-else maybe bamboo ) vs. plastic


I think it's attainment will never be reach.. but it doesn't mean you shouldn't try everyday you garden. Like you will never reach perfection, but in striving toward it, you have accomplished.

You want to pay close attention to any animal based ammendments. Specifically bone meals, they have the potential to accumulate significant heavy metals. All products from the pacific ocean are suspect now. Do some research into bioremediation, it may give you some useful techniques.

All weed growers should pay attention to this, not just organic fanatics since cannabis is accumulator of heavy metals.

1/8's and ace's that pretty much life huh??? Big shrimp good point. Habeeb, amen. But the only way to keep striving for the top is to know more and more. Yet can always be better. It's interesting but when is it really ever good enough? NEVER... As a species, weather growing weed or making money we never really seem to be satisfied? Crazy!!! Funny how I'm drifting this towards tokers den... Anyway, I'd love it if people would continue to chime in on organic purity...

i guess it depends on who you talk to. For some, rocks were never alive so anything rock derived isn;t "organic." others insist everything here is apparently here and nothing isn't "organic" ~so, every grow is organic ~duh

I consider sustainability a much more important issue. Many ingredients used in organic mixes are not replaced, at least not in the rate at which they are removed from the earth. Guano and dolomite lime may make growers feel all high and mighty because they are not synthetic, but they are ecologically not sound.

I think it was last winter or maybe the one before I was walking my dog down this dirty unban ditch toking and having beer.

I saw this really cool reed growing near the bank that was all wrapped up with some sort of banding or trash of some ribbon variaty.I looked at it for along time,at first I thought what a shame this nice plant all strangle by the work of man.

Then I realized this plant was decorated and was really very attactive with its ribbon outfit.I went on my way with a different perspective about our life on Earth.
One day on the beach I saw a hermit crab that made home from a plastic coke bottle cap.

Eighths n Aces has got it right.Do your best at what makes sense to you and keep your standards high.Although I concider myself an organic gerdner in no way am I 100% organic.This is an unreasonable goal.

I have been keeping one worm compost pile covered to protect it from Fukushima radiation (FR) rain, as we refer to it on another forum. It gets well water, the well is 140 feet deep, hopefully protecting it from Fukushima.

The cow manure in it was from a grass fed cow that died Feb. 2012, and was bagged to protect it from FR rain, then spread on when I wanted to build the pile up.

I use mostly wood ash for potassium, wood ash from the fireplace. With bone meal, brand name 'Hi-Yield'.


So it's not perfect.


I guess, "think organic" and then you get closer to organic perfection. I guess better bone meal is where I would start for my own worm castings pile.

Keep your diet around 70% alkaline foods.

Don't eat stuff that is NOT food (artificial additives and such)

Use a LOT of cannabis.

Fukushima? Shouldn't even be a worry for you as your body will kick any cancer that gets started.

i think the verbiage of the question at would be something like is it possible to grow without sources being tainted with man made environmental pollutants

is it possible?

is it possible to grow naturally?

i have my own opinions but really our focuses should be on remediation since we cant avoid other peoples toxic actions but we can use organics and natural methods to minimize that expose and re mediate the rest
