Warning - Fake OG from Colorado

My friend smoked some of my Ghost OG and asked where I got it and so I told him I got it from Dr. Greenthumb (in Canada). A while later he called and said he had had a lot of problems germinating it but I thought nothing of it figuring it was something he did but now I'm not so sure. He called a while back and told me he was having hermie problems with his plants and he only had 2 left. I have grown many OGs over the years but have never seen a hermie in Dr. Greenthumb (Canada) gear but again I figured, even though he's a skilled grower he must have frigged it up. I saw him at New Years and we smoked some of his "OG" it was okay but I didn't think it was OG. He said it was and that he got it from Dr. Greenthumb. Well it turns out he got it from some dude in Colorado calling himself DR Green Thumb. He showed me the package and it came from Humbolt Seed Organization and it is definately NOT real OG. Another friend just last night said they got Bubba Kush from Humbolt Seeds and that it wasn't Bubba Kush, was full of hermies and didn't germinate very well, so be warned.

Good to know. Guess the ol' adage, trust no one, and buy from reputable places. OG is usually a vibrant strain, very hardy, few problems.

Sorry you got duped.....and in Colorado no less. We don't need any undue negative press!!!

Despise imposters!!!! Dr. Green Thumb....yeah right. And I'm Orville Redenbacher............

I think this is just the tip of the iceberg if private folks star selling their plants/harvests to dispensaries...opens up a whole new can of worms.....or SPAM.

og is far from being very hardy with few problems, it is notoriously a picky and hard to dial in strain very sensitive to nutes and easily fucked up by new or impatient growers also many have problems getting it to root and will pop nanners with undue stress, check your facts dude

Um... Just cause he bought these seeds in CO, doesn't mean it's "fake OG from Colorado" humboldt seed organization is most likely from humboldt California. Your homie fucked up by buying the wrong seeds. It's important to research seed companies when you are purchasing.

Had some ghost og from cl. not too long ago, wasnt impressed, was decent at best. have to agree with guerilla, all plants have special needs, all want something a little different to perform their full expression.Having said that, blah blah blah og blah blah og blah blah,so sick of hearing og this and that, gimme a break....got some "og" escd recently and I just had to fucking laugh out loud! Ppl hear og their all woww mannn lmao...quit throwin that og name around already.heh. oh yeah,i thought ogs were cuts only, real deal isnt a seed its a proven cut.

i will quote someone i don't remember who but they said "the best og is the one you can get dialed", there is so much sub par og kush it makes me sick. people need to learn how to grow what they have before moving on to something else you would be suprised at the difference from first run to the batch you have locked it nutes and enviorment to perfection

Guess if you know what you are doing, OG is not a difficult plant to grow. Have had success with several OG's....OG Kush from Reserva Privada, Dinafem, Royal Queen Seeds, not to mention other hybrids....Riot's OG Kush, White OG, Tahoe OG, Chcolope Kush. Half nutes all the way, no transplanting.

Speak for yourself, mate.

To each their own. My main comment was getting something that is labeled OG or whatever strain dispensaries sell, but not necessarily the correct plant .

Outdoors OG often surprises people with her hardiness, prowess, and productivity. Indoors she is often much more picky, especially to the inexperienced or uninformed.

wait you said og is easy to grow..like all og is the same shit, thats my point,og is a stupid ass label, always has been, however, all plants require experience and "dialing in",im being redundant sorry. The plant will tell you what it wants if you watch and read it..quite simple, dont expect perfect results the first few runs..the plant will letya know when its happy.
oh yeah, real og kush is a proven cut not some seed hack.Seed poppin can be real good or real bad especially for those that dont have the room to cull the duds.Poppin and sortin seeds for elite cuts is another level of growing.Like growing out 50-100 seeds and finding a keeper, real growers grow out 1000s of seeds to find an elite cut. Keeping that in mind, dont expect too much from a random og seed...I respect the real growers that went thru the troubles finding us the elites and keeping them alive for many, many years.Ecsd, killer queen, casey, hmmm choco trip the list goes on and on...were NOT picked out of some random seed mix purchased online, the real engineers of this plant selected elites. Thanks Yall!

"OG" is just one of those buzz words that people like to hear so any unscrupulous vendor will often call whatever they have on hand OG or whatever strain is hot news at the time. I can't count how many different times I've picked up something that wasn't what it was supposed to be. God only knows the real number but I bet there are literally thousands of cuts going around being sold as OG that aren't even related to the original strain. I have no doubt there are probably more fake versions of it than real at this point. The same can be said for the various diesels etc.

dialed in fake og

all y'all are talkin seed pops, not the original cuts. even the op... seed pop presumably off the real ghost cut. that progeny shouldnt even be called 'ghost'... its kin off the ghost, not the ghost. so even his is' fake' if reppin it as the ghost, or any of the rest that are calling a seed pop by original cut name. maybe the offspring is actually better, but it still aint the original cut.

just another angle on the same bitch. ;-)
