Do you wear

A wristwatch? My wife and I got our daughter a very nice one for her 18th birthday yesterday. So she opens the box containing the watch and looks pleased, then she says "but dad I don't really need this I have my phone". I have a mobile phone as well but I rarely use it to tell time. I have a watch. Maybe I'm just getting old?

Weird... quit wearing a watch decades ago. Don't like jewelry or stuff hanging off me. (LOVE my wife's scarves though! I'm a scarf convert for sure!)

I mostly use the phone to check the time these days.

Keep it Clean! :D

Hello all,

I wear a clock bracelet myself...I don't think they teach how to read a clock anymore in skool.

I quit wearing a watch back when I started carrying a cellphone.

seemed redundant

I still think there is still a place for a nice watch/dress watch.

"Watches" will make a comeback in the next few years, I believe when you can wear your cell on your wrist many people will do that.

The samsung smart watch doesn't have enough features to be practical but if i could get one with a bigger screen and had had all the capabilties of a smart phone i think many people would switch back over to "smart watches".

I have a pretty nice collection, mostly inherited, that I hardly ever wear because I mostly walk everywhere I go, and I take public transportation a lot. I don't want to be the guy with the nice watch on the train at 1AM.

I do think watches are making a comeback though. Every company out there is working on smart watches at the moment. I know Apple's smart watch is highly anticipated as the next big thing to stand in line for.

I like the more futuristic style of watches out these days though. Like this Hydro Mechanical Titanium watch is nice, but at $50,000 I don't think I'll be getting one any time soon.

If I need to be on time for more than one thing I wear my watch.
If I'm just walking the dog - I don't.
When I'm attending a business meeting I also wear a watch.

I always wear a wrist watch. I have to keep track of time for business and don't want to be digging in my pocket all the time for my phone.

Only time I don't wear a watch is when I'm fucking, sleeping, showering, working out, working on the ride, etc etc.

I wear a wrist watch that's engraved on the back with "grandpa". My grandson gave it to me, so I'll wear it even after it stops working probably.

I usually only wear it when I'm working. Easier to check my wrist quick than dig my phone out.

When I'm not working, time doesn't exist.

My last day of work 10 years ago was the last time I wore a wristwatch. And even better, that fucking radio on my hip.

ha! consider the source bro, those kids always have their noses in their 'devices' :) I don't text or twitter but it seems to me that every exchange includes a time stamp.

it's a different world these days sutra, the kids are closer to being the Jetson's than we ever imagined ourselves getting, their kids probably being the ones to invent or witness those daily type Jetson's technologies.

when I wear a watch it a Fossil Titanium, maybe cost me $125 or so when this model came out back in the late 90's. now it needs a new battery, it sits waiting in the tray on my desk.......

EDIT:
oh yeah, my cell phone clock #s are too small for me to see.
