Runny, Sticky Product

Now, this batch of trim doesn't look old, but from the initial blow it comes out runny and sticky, no real form. Maybe its all decarb'd already but I have no idea.

What could be the reason to this, and what can I do to make it better consistency. Purging at 115 over time, heating and cooling, nothing is working. Maybe freeze then vacuum. Not sure really how to make this better.

Blow into a lukewarm water bath, which I know is bad for moisture, but Ice is worse IMO.

Kind of scattered in thought, sorry for the lake of coherence. Any help would be much appreciated.

Much love all

usually decarbed or if theres a lot of terpenes .. it can be runnier from what ive read.. I just made some hexane hash oil out of material that I already ran for keif.. then used the keif for bho.. and then used the material for hexane.. and got a nice yield of a very clear product when its a thin strip.. but if I fold it up. its as dark as can be.. lol no clue never did hexane before. I think I mite just run all this material that already has been used to make keif .. I mite run it with butane instead. id rather get a few extra grams out of the material for myself.. then use it for butter or oil.. I need a way to make 5 lbs .. into oil.. without blowing threw hundreds of cans of butane and running tons of tubes.. if hexane worked better.. id do all hexane. but looks like butane is the winner.

Trim will be partially decarbed just from sitting around a month or two. It doesn't have to be that old to get to that point. I've seen trim and bud only a couple months old produce a runny "sap" consistency with a butane extraction. I've also seen bud and trim from the same harvest (different strains) produce shatter or wax with the same procedures used for extraction and purging. It might be partially dependent on the strain. I don't know if there's an easy way to convert that runny sticky oil into wax or shatter.

Strains do make a diffierence with the final product. FatherEarth in the MKIII thread uses a flash of a heat gun on parchment to thin the errl out and partailly decarb it and results in a shatter product. Hope this helps and good luck on the quest.

This happened to me twice a long while ago. Come to find out the trim job was done with a machine. Tried again with a batch of hand done trim from the same crop and did not have the same issue. Trim machines can be brutal.

I just did a run that turned out very sappy. It was bottom animal cookie nugs not old at all. I thought I would get some nice shatter but I think my buddy sprayed stylet oil foliar way to close to harvest.

Does any one else have experience with running buds treated with neem, karanja, or stylet oil?

I've run flowers that had neem sprayed on them as well as flowers that had a product called zero tolerance on them. Neither made the product more sappy, but they did smell like hell and I would assume they tasted horrible but based on the smell I never tried dabbing them, just ditched it instead of risking it.

I have run a few batches for a friend with two different strains and they both had a very distinct soapy/bitter aftertaste on test but no noticeable smell. Asked him a few Q's and found out he sprayed MightyWash a couple times in flower so i believe thats the culprit. Same cut grown by another bro had no aftertaste present and he did not spray anything. Good question hamma.
