first, thank you Jnugg! I want to do it just like you but with 600w, bigger room and double the plants.
I did some indoor and had decent results: 300-350g/600w horizontal. but did outdoor mostly. will do that this year too but want to focus on indoor vert.
my weapons of choice was GH Lucas but will try GHS PowdeerFeed since I grow GHS strains(NL5 HM, SSH, WR and EC). I add supervit and superthrive and maybe some Canna PK and use mapito as medium and flood&drain(tank under the bed)
any experience with PowderFeed?
since Id on't use MH for veg(just the mothers) but HPS, will that couse a problem? do the plants grow up or in towards the light?
want to do Heath's pipe colloseum but don't have time or space for 100+ clones. so I'll go with 16 plants(2 per 5gal basket). I go with 10days of veg and then swich to 12/12. I dont want go grow them too much, just under 1m(3 feet) so the entire plant will have all the light. is this true: "600w is most efficient at a 60cm(2feet) from bulb and has a spread of 90cm(3feet)."? I put it in " coz thats what I read and hear... coz as stated, my room is 5x5feet and the plants are exactly 2 feet from the center.
oh and if I put the exaust ducting just above the bulb(a have a cooltube and will take everything off but the socket with the ducting) will this make be to put my plants closer to the bulb? so far my closest idea is 1 feet from bulb.

p.s. want to grow for myself and few friends. we need the meds. I have severe headaches from "cilinders" (don't know the english word for it but it causes headaches and migrenes from an eye problem) and beaing a skater/snowboarder/rugbyplayer, I'm in pain all the time
