Jah makes enough for everyone yes

my point is that 200/p came about back when stuff was 4k all day , even for a 100 pack..

i doubt most CA growers are getting much more than 2 for the outs after bills, while some..hella... are getting half that...

why do you think 20 dlr an hour crews of loser young men are being payed to run machines....and mexican labor is being hired to grow weed at 1k a week pay...?

for those of us that grew up in CA and have roots on the industry here, its pretty obvious the winds of change are coming...

even in my meetings with the og's here in the hills...they say the same

What kind of change do you think is coming legalization and lower prices of course but what type of things do the og's have in place to survive? I'm sure alot of the 200 pack growers are thinking about starting clubs?

im talking about the commercial growers..

most are already diversified....thell be fine, its the mom and pops who are gonna have to find either a foot in the new door or a new gig all together

that being said when all the out of state greenrushers leave in a couple years land is gonna be cheap!

We tried to pay ours 150 and they said they'd walk but they're very good and could easily find work elsewhere. We paid 200 to keep them working and happy. Next year I want to pay them 100 or Ill get a new machine. I still have all the drying racks.

See I like that. They know they're value. I'm glad you have employees that are worth their salt.

If they are skilled trimmers then 200 is on the table. There are just a bunch of people out there, as evidenced from other posts too, that can't or are unwilling to work well and still expect top wage. It just seems like since its a cannabis scene people get in the mind set that its not a real job. Shit, part of the blame might fall on us for allowing smoking and drinking. Where else would you be allowed to do that?

I feel that and see it as well. Im just saying we arent seeing people losing their farms and land cause we are growing something like soybeans or corn. Even at the declining rate its at now its still worth farming and you can make a nice living doing it, enough to still pay well enough to make everyone smile no matter what. Its still the #1 ca$h crop.

In my limited time Ive been around this planet, one thing I have gathered that still holds true( for me at least ) is you have to give to receive. If you give selflessly... The river of blessings flows in a circle and it can be the difference between struggling or everything falling in place effortlessly.

To most shit like that just doesnt make business cents. Spiritual pathways that you can only know by traveling them, and experiencing first hand. Everyone has their own road to travel and their own forks to choose from.

Lots of Respect to everyone who has contributed to this thread!

Love, Respect and Safety,

Exactly. Most of the available hands that want to trim fit this description. I watched my bro weed thru them like picking green onions til he gets to the people who actually work and are eager to please. He would set minimum daily requirements that had to be met if you wanted to keep your job. The ones who preform get invited back next year etc. Seemed to work ok but still a wild circus to orchestrate and manage. Now he hires all star skilled ninjas to trim all his herb with fantastic results.Smoking and drinking on the job? smoking some herb ok, no drinking allowed unless you were getting off work soon or already off. No fucking around, no whining, keep quiet( some are incapable of doing so), trim tight, no scraping only precision cutting. screen your shit before weigh in, no shake. Damn that dude put in a lot of work and managed to run a tight ship come trim scene. He certainly wasnt giving $$ away to slouch ass lazy trimmers.

True that. Will be interesting to see how things change over the next few years especially after Cali goes recreational. Over time my guess is that lower quality or shoddy run ops will fall by the wayside. People that step up their game will always do well as the cream will rise to the top. Peeps that incorporate science into their grows, recording data, testing, etc. will always have a leg up.

Exactly! I do not fear recreational in Cali. I have a background in business, so I know it's critical to stay ahead of the curve. I saw so many companies in the last 10 years go under because they insisted on doing the same losing business model until it was too late.

I used to be heavily involved in the canna scene. I prolly have over 5,000 posts here lol. Anyway had the opportunity to visit a lot of farms and check out a lot of herb. Most outdoor herb is subpar and most peeps potential in their gardens goes unrealized IMO. I spent most of my life in small business start up, development, reorganization and management. I have no doubt top tier farmers and those with decent business acumen will do quite well as Cali continues to transform. Adapt or die.

The reason I am going to try to pay less next year is I'm going to build my trimmers cabins a kitchen and bathroom and a place to work in..they really are quality workers, they do it all with no complaints and are cool with getting paid as the market allows, they know what they're doing and the relationship we have ensures they'll get taken care of. After all, I want them to come back, and they do too.

Last trim session, I made my crew homemade Eggs Benedict, with a Hollandaise custard. Empty plates, and full racks were the result. I just gave one of my trimmers $300 in tincture for her father, and flower samples just because. The $200 a unit that I pay is more of a gesture, I always try to make the whole experience more valuable, and it keeps them coming back...

A week in, and I am seeing news reports about CO dispos running out of inventory. That does not spell lower prices... I have had patients try to grow a couple of plants, only to give up, and admit that it's better to leave it to the pros. There is so much untapped market that is being suppressed through fear of prosecution, or of creating a paper trail with a medical recommendation.
Plus, any way to relegate the Mexican Mafia to coke and meth, and ruthlessly eradicated is a good thing in my book.

I was talking in regards to Lower prices for CA Growers but yeah Im keeping an eye on whats going on in Colorado the supply can't keep up with the demand seeing OC prices in some reports.

i think most growers will do fine as long as their heart is in the work and their product is quality. Some of the bigger players will get even bigger. Others will have to adjust to making less money than they used to. As it is now, a big-time grower can make enough money in about 5 years to support themselves for the rest of their life.

The real question i am wondering is at what point will the market even out? will we see $250/lb outdoor and $500 indoor units if/when weed is legalized globally?

GseeG,

Not here, take that criticism somewhere else. Otherwise you won't be around long enough to learn a thing. And that would be a shame, cause no matter how much you already think you know, this thread can help you in ways you haven't thought of.

Peace

No way, it's simply too expensive to produce. Prices will increase when legalization happens because quality supply won't meet demand
