There needs to be a change to where growers can sell to retail outlets "legally."
It is the only way quality will up.

Oh, please. Colorado's dual source plan, grow your own or buy retail/medical provides the best current extant situation for cannabis lovers. It's the only place in the world where both growing & buying are state legal, giving consumers the widest choices & availability.
We plan to use retail for sampling a wider variety of genetics than we can practically grow in a reasonable amount of time. Lots of Coloradans formerly disconnected from modern cannabis will be doing the same thing both for the purposes of identifying what they want to grow & what they want to smoke in the future.
Not everybody can grow their own (or enough of their own) for a variety of reasons. But they have the same right to legal cannabis as those who grow, so taxable retail cannabis is a necessary part of the equation. It's the price of legalization.
It's a whole new paradigm, a whole new way of looking at it that gets cannabis on the legal side of the fence. Obviously, compromises were made to make that happen, but tokers still win big, very big.
In Colorado, we're legit, over the pass, rolling down the easy side, free of all the bullshit endured to get there. Well, other than the baggage we bring along.
Perfect? Nah, but it's entirely liveable and doable for everybody, stoned & straight alike, and a helluva big improvement all around. It's an opportunity to open our minds to even greater awakening.
Once this all settles in over the next few years, once the new non-threatening reality comes into being I think there will be more favorable change down the road. The reality of legal weed will simply overwhelm the threatening stereotypes promulgated in the WoD and its predecessors. That's not who tokers are, never were, and this coming out of sorts lets us show the world more of the truth. Life in Colorado will go on, mostly unchanged except for the better.
It's a chance to heal some of the damage of the "Righteous Us" vs "Wicked Them" Paradigm all too common in this country. It's a chance for people to look a little deeper, too, and to see how we're manipulated into that societally destructive headset all too often.
I didn't think home growers could do that "legally." I thought that caregivers , and higher plant count growers could not sell to the store.
Do you have documentation for this? If this is true then why don't I see more quality herb in the dispensaries?
Street prices are higher?
i do grow my own. and i might i say i love smoking my own. but i also love variety. and well i do tend to run out. for one reason or another.
and when i can end up paying 52 bucks for a zip. and it can be all in 1/8s. YEA i think i ll try some of the strains i m growin. as for concentrates they have a co2 machine 15 a g isnt too bad either. . there is a limit tho.......... i dont like limits
and as for a wage..................................... yea it sux.
but thats temporary.. for now.
i made more practicing my previous trade.
also like the garden krustallos!
I was just in CO visiting a friend who played a big part in helping his county write guidelines for medical. If I'm remembering correctly he said the state is currently looking at modifying the writing for the retail aspect of the canna business to make it easier for growers to sell to retail shops. There needs to be a change to where growers can sell to retail outlets "legally."

I heard of one place that was paying $750 per lb to a grower onsite yet they just changed that position(s) to salary. Another place is offering growers $1000 per lb for offsite growing and they also pay your rent, elec and supply costs. is there a lot of jobs down there in grows.. where you can actually make good money working for someone else? or is it all the same everywere.. I bunch of underpaid over worked employees?

just so yall understand, there will be NO new rec licenses issued untill 2016, untill then only those who held their MED license prior to oct 2012;
so even IF you did get a new med license (or purchased an existing one after oct 2012) you could only sell to MED shops NOT REC.
and fyi, the licensing process is SERIOUS, not "just anyone" can get one, the state is kinda selective, especially when giving out NEW licenses... it'd be easier (and alot more expensive) to just buy an existing license holder out.
NO "vending" is not making a comeback, (don't expect it too either!)
no you can't bring in your extra herb or wax to sell to a shop,
no there is not an easy and legal way to be able to sell to shops.
True that from what I've been told. I'd just be riding someone's coattails. Only discrepancy I've been told is that new recreational licenses can be applied for by anyone not currently holding a medical license after June 2014. I did read though that's it's 2016 so have to inquire further about that.lesterburum:
