He bumped into Satchel in an elevator before the show and showing him his sign he asked for an autograph, he was instead told he could join the band onstage to play.

I'm sorta speechless, imagine being in his shoes, dream come true shit and no doubt we'll hear his name again in the future when he forms his own band.......

But can he compare with this kid?
Just been listening to an 8 year old play with Buddy Guy. You have to listen to this. Blew my mind.......:

Fast forward a few years, and he's opening for Buddy Guy, and matching him note for note.

Listen to Guddy Guy talk about the kid who he discovered @7 years old.
Some incredible licks in here. This kid may have the fastest hands on the planet:

And some more Voodoo Child.....he does some things on here that I never saw anyone do. He set's the guitar down on the stage vertically and kind of tingles the strings from behind, and it's an incredible effect.

Just saw this one when he was on the Tonight Show. Sound quality is really excellent here on some original material.

Anyway, there's tons of videos on You tube about him. Once you see one you have the links for the others. Buddy Guy says he is the greatest talent to come in over 30 years.

I like the blues kid better. He has his own style and licks.

There are lots of teens and younger that can play intricate guitar runs from songs note for note. Back in the 70's, 80's, 90's that might have been rare but not today. I sure was not doing it back when and give them their due.

I am an old fart and playing for many years. A kid playing blues with feeling and style is weird and cool. I think he will evolve and get 'better' as he ages, but damn he can get it done fine right now!

Blues and music in general, should not be a technical competition. That said, playing fast and tough stuff can be fun to listen to and adds to the experience if not overdone.

Yes, the "blues kid" has taste & style, and he can replicate the playing style of almost anyone, yet his original music is top notch also. Buddy Guy is no slouch, and he calls him the greatest talent to come along in 30 years. That's high praise coming from someone who has played with all the greats, going back 50 years. Quinn Sullivan is his name. I keep forgetting that.....:)
