115F???

we never get more than a handful of days over 90F here during the whole summer, last time it hit 100F here was fathers day weekend in '95, yup so rare is that weather I can remember when it happened last, actually it got to 105F that time.

coldest temps ever here would be february 2nd 1996 @ -60F, when going outside you couldn't breath unless you were using a scarf or towel to filter out the extreme cold, if you tried taking a breath straight into your lungs your esophagus would clench up closed in an involuntary reflex, very serious shit.

That is insane! And sounds very uncomfortable.

Minnesota, right? I'm curious to see what game time temp is going to be in GB tomorrow, forecast high is 3F with a low of -20F... Game time is 4:30pm local time I believe.

Today it was a balmy 45F in my neck of the woods of the PNW...

Call me crazy, but I am hoping for a straight up fucking blizzard to come through.

I may be eating those words within the next month.

What do most people use for heat?

Considering my "other" profession... I can't imagine working in the heating industry in that neck of the woods.

lots of folk use wood heat, some with in home wood burning devices and others with full size outdoor wood stoves like the one below which digest full size logs (not the wood pellets pictured) and then circulate hot water into the home.

Electricity is fairly cheap where we are & so some use that to heat and then of course the usual LP or oil burning furnaces.

But it' a dry cold ...

As long as you stay out of the wind you should be O.K. :tiphat:

It's a good day to stay home by the bong and keep your hands warm.

Good Luck to everyone :dance013:

-25 to -30F tonight but windchill readings of -55 w/the 20mph winds.

here's something to consider if you didn't know it already, only living things feel windchill temps, a house doesn't; a brick, a log, a car will only reflect the actual temps. windchill affects water based organisms.

so lucky me! all this talk about windchill only affects me while going to the store or walking the dogs, I DON'T have to fight the cold w/extra heat to keep my house warm.

And when I walk the dogs I leave the door to my house open in case I have a stroke or heart attack, the dogs can step inside on their own to stay alive. I would NEVER leave my dogs outside and then go back inside myself, not for a second, I'm outside w/them at all times; weather like this can take an animal very quickly, imagine getting a phone call & being distracted for 10-15 minutes.

I think yall are stealing all my snow. the mountains aint covered like normal. hope things change or the spring thaw is gonna be weak .leading to low water levels and shorter kayaking season on river........gimme my snow back and yes last year I recorded 115 several times

-14. Forecast for tomorrow is 8. LOVE my electric blanket.

I hear ya there, I bought a full length heated mattress pad (can't use it past setting #3, it gets that hot) that warms me up nicely, toss a wool blanket over, then the dogs fill in the extra body heat and I'm a Stoner4Life Hot Pocket.......
