Very nice offerings..I was looking at your tea mixes prior to finding you here. Has any one done a grow with your build your own soil kits? Super enough to go water only? I'm not sure how new your company is.

Thanx

You can go water only with the BYOS mix. However with teas you will get better results. They will add significant yield, and possibly a higher level of trichome production. I will have some documentation over the next few months. I will post them as I get them. I worked on my soil mixes for about 2 years. I tested so many different mixes its ridiculous.

My BYOS mixes will change as tests dictate. None of my products are static, and they may all change at some point. However if they work there is usually not a rush to change them.

(Cool) is the Basalt Rock Dust in the base similiar to me adding Paramagnetic Rock Dust to my soil mix?

Thanx for getting back!

Basalt is going to be for micronutrients whereas the paramagnetic rock is going to be to help drainage, and also for it's paramagnetic properties. Which you will have to Google to find out about paramagnetic rocks super powers. :)

im loving those prices, and with all that selection you could make some pretty diverse soil mixes! definitely bookmarked for future use...ive been interested in blending my own soil, ive been using straight happyfrog for years but when i switched to organic i started adding a lot of worm castings and a few other things, the problem is that most of the organic soils and supplements in my area are only available in huge 20+ pound bags and even then it's most of it is seasonal, meant for outdoor gardening. if i tried to make a mix that was more complex than 4 parts happy frog to 1 part worm castings i would end up with 20 square feet of extra soil from all the bulk composts and amendments i had to buy, and i would only be able to do it in the summer when the ingredients were available locally.

given the option i would like to make a diverse soil mix from many soil sources, and your site offers a huge variety of amendments in small 5 pound bags! i could order 6-12 small bags and mix up a perfect soil without having 6 times more soil than i need at the end...id probably still use happy frog as a base because i know it well, but from there i could add worm castings, seed hulls, alfalfa meal, rice hulls, rock dusts, humus from multiple parts of the country, mushroom compost, regular compost, comfrey leaves...

im still fairly new to the organic world but i feel that as long as im careful with the nutrient levels in the amendments i add i should get healthier, more pest and disease free plants, with a healthier, more biodiverse soil, that ensures no matter what my plants want, there will always be some in the soil... not only that but ive been pretty averse to brewing my own teas and doing a little indoor composting, but your premixed teas and brewers look like something i will need to be trying very soon! i don't know, maybe there are other organic sites just like yours, i haven't really looked for an all inclusive organic shop, i usually just go through amazon, but the fact that i have found a site that i believe i can trust with just about any organic nutrient and amendment i could want and dozens more ive never heard of...well i guess it's motivation for me to break past my pre-digested liquid organic nutes for at least a partial super soil or...well...with organics the possibilities are infinite...i can slowly top dress and mulch in later, make teas, super soils, bottled liquids, or a combination...

chemical growing with the old lucas formula for years was getting boring as hell, i really love organics and the all the possibilities, the ability to combine multiple sources of the same nutrients to get a more diverse and well rounded crops...or just to offset boredom and give myself a false sense of organic bravado...lol i kid but i find myself getting more and more into organics the more i learn about it, i get the feeling im going to be eating all organic food before too long and advocating organics to every grower i know, which is a complete 180 from a year ago, when the thought of organics just grossed me out...im pretty surprised at how much less smell organics has than i thought it would... thought my whole place would reak like rotting blood meal 24-7...

anyways its good to find your site! i look forward to over-shopping there whenever i can.

Any chance you could add some zeolite to the selection? You have everything I need otherwise, and you can expect an y order from me soon.

Respect and support from me, amigo.

I may end up going with BioChar actually. The reason I asked about zeolite is because I'm designing an experimental odor control system that uses zeolite instead of carbon (since zeolite can be reused via sunlight as opposed to carbon).

Also, can you provide some more pictures of your 5 gal brewer? I can't quite tell how you use it :bashhead:

I am in the process of making some videos for them, but it will be a bit before they are done. Explaining everything via pictures would be to hard. :)

ESO >>>i did obtain your BYOS flower mix , i put that into 2 (almost full) 18 gal. rubbermaid totes, along with 5lbs of your rice hulls per tote. nice and fluffy awesome smell. Then i wet it with a Ewc-molasses tea. its been cooking for about 2-1/2 wks with an occasional stir and re-wet. (this is the recommended process for a majority of soil mixes).I am sure this will be good in the totes until i am ready to use? correct? I only have 1 well rooted girl to try the mix on. I may post a pic of her in this thread if allowed? I did try all-organic a few yrs back.....did not know what i was doin at that time. Back at it again. Definately with more Q and A. ESO is also on ebay for the imformed. Its all less expensive on their website. hope im not out of line here. thanks ESO Firehound

I understand completely.

May I ask where your oyster shell or flour comes from (geographically speaking)? Don't want to steal your source, just saw some really messed up little clams in a lab today. Made me antsy about where all my sea stuff is coming from

The coast of Alabama. No Fukushima radiation, but possibly some BP oil spill residue. :)

It's a kens granddaddy purp. about a foot tall, in a small 1 1/2 gal container. gave her a tea at transplant with mike(mychorrizae) and a light kelp spray on foliage. What is the watering like in the byos. what is water recommendation. my tap is 180-210 ppm, with a high ph of 7.50 to 8(conv..7) which i usually cut it with ro to get a 50-75 ppm final water. I am just kinda freaked out not using a ph pen anymore......i wanna let it go ya know:comfort:

I am always checking out any garden/plant areas of any store i visit. And ran across this product. I dont know for sure if could/should be bubbled by itself, with EWC? Would like to hear from the Organic Fanatics<<(NO disrespect) how to use this best?

This is funny. I was suppose to meet with the buffaloam guy this week, but got to busy. He is going to be coming by the warehouse next week.

From my talks with them it is a good product. He is suppose to be bringing me some samples to make teas with so that I can check them out under the scope.

Suppose to have major microbial counts. They age it for 2 years. Should be good stuff for teas.

Are you on a well, or city water? If it is City water you need to be filtering out the chlorine, and chloromines. If not you could be doing some major damage to the microbes in your soil. You can get a hose end chlorine filter on amazon for about $40.

Are you going to be flowering in the 1.5 gallon pot?

If so I would have already flipped it.

Personally I would transplant into a 3 gallon, wait two weeks, and then flip.

More soil=more roots=more yield. :)
