Interesting tidbit. As we r getting proof of purchase from customers for replacement. I noticed the seed depot requested that they make their money orders out to
Bulbul Investments LLC.
LLC are only US companies. Traces it back to a bit coin market place in Atlanta.
Look like he sunk all the $$ into bit coins.

Im pretty sure seed bay and seed boutique have nothing to do with the seed DEPOT. that is the one that was closed.
I think thats what you were trying to ask.
yeah such a dumb question,, they are the same and this discussion has nothing to do with either.. this is about a completely separate "business"..

I hate to say it but he seemed like a good Guy to me and the forum members were very kind and helpful . I never suspected this would happen even when my bodhi and rd seeds had inconsistent packaging. Tsd was my first forum because there was unbelievable faith and support for the site, its members and even J.B as a stand up Guy. Dont trust my snowqueen for sure as they had the same packaging/ labeling as some freebies I got. Never thought this would be possible and it fucking sucks. Karmabitch I can't pm but I have 4 packs of rd gear bought after the stock was repossessed is there a way to email you the order info?

So TSD had a Dutch domain, the business operated in the UK (?) and the business had an LLC in the USA to deal with money orders.
If TSD was located in the UK does anyone happen to know under what name it was registered under?
This might help put some of your minds at ease about the packaging issue.
Often seeds are sent in bulk and the seed shop must sort thru them and pack them up.
So you can get different packaging from what is usual.
But it is best to ask the breeder if they sent beans in bulk for repackaging or whether they packaged them with identifiable breeder logo or whatever.
Again this is where breeders need to become more professional. You can be the most experienced breeder and do a lousy job marketing your products and designing your packaging.
Attempting to do yourself what you're not great at, often shows up in packaging. If you want to look professional, you need to hire a professional for your "look". Just sending in beans without decent packaging will leave your buyers scratching their heads about what it is they actually got... This is more true than ever now that professional business people are coming into the biz. (yes I know, the Dutch have mastered this art - witness the Greenhouse's legendary over-the-top packaging (now that's expensive!)

I really like the proposal about more breeders using secure, tamper proof packing, packing dates, and numbered packs. Oh, and crush/light proof too.
I realize this would probably increase the cost per pack. Maybe even by 20% (?). But I, for one, would be willing to pay that extra for more breeders to pack beans like MNS or E$ko. and yes, Greenhouse's packaging is very good, each seed is individually encased. (GH seeds arent great anymore imo, but they are very professional [read- industry leading] when it comes to seed packaging.)
If all breeders packed seeds like this, JB probably couldnt have even done much damage.
My personal favorite breeder's beans come in a little plastic ziplock. Id glady pay a little more to offset cost increases. (bodhi)

Given the price of seeds these days, it's not too much to ask that the beans be enclosed in some kind of secure packaging. I'm sure it wouldn't cost 20% of retail price for good packaging.
Some smart entrepreneur should create a standard packaging that can then be sold cheaply to breeders who can then customize it with a stick on logo that acts like a tamper-proof seal.
Actually there is such packaging available, but I'm not sure where to order it from. I have a Uline catalog, but you might need to check a more specialized company. Or just check out what others have done. I've been impressed over the years by the Greenhouse's innovative packaging. They've tried out all sorts of things. Of course, they can afford to do that. Not saying everyone needs to make a big deal about pkging, but if you want a wider market and international credibility, it really helps.

JLP had it right years ago. Collectable coin holders, with a little bit of hosepipe in it, the seeds inside the circle of hosepipe. Not very good for people who want flashy branded boxes though. a little hologram sticker which tears if it is removed would do the trick as far as tamper-proofing goes. Or serial numbers like Simon from Serious Seeds started doing. I would do the coin holders, inside a branded moisture barrier bag.
I'd rather the companies use cheap but protective packaging, and put some extra seeds in.

It's possibly seeds in question are bulk filled. It's just concerning to hear about possible rip offs. Makes me wonder how far it goes. I'd like to see breeders from tsd stay around. There was good genetics at tsd. Seems weed has gotten some strange names with weird ancestory. I like things simple, call it old school. I used to get all my beans from seeds direct. But with some of what interests me at the boutique, there are no grows online to research. Lot's of what is at the bay sounds like it means little to me. I can't link any of the ancestry to what interests me. I'm more interested in breeds that I would have made if given the chance. I don't really care if snoop dog or Jerry Garcia found a breed to be the best.
