Hello all

Been resident in the state for 25 years. Been grower for 4 years now. L
With some experience and because I lost my day job, became a co-op collective grower. I know there are a lot of us on the seen that I know in person. I also know some great hydroponic stores in LA area that offers up to 35/40 percent discount. Also, in the last 3 years I have not purchased a single clone. Please.... This is not a brag on any way. Those things simply comes with the profession.
Wanted to touch bases with anyone who are trying to make a living in the area, or just to have a place for us, SoCal growers to share information, rumors, prices, stuff, etc...

Talk to you soon.

Lifetime Socal resident here. Been growing off and on the past 5 years or so.

Wheres the 30-40% off hydro stores? ;)

Maybe some other socal growers can fill me in where the best spot to pick up some seeds is or is it better just to stick to seedbay/seedboutique?

Anyone using LA tap with something like a smallboy filter? just wondering if something like that is enough for dirty LA water.

Welcome, welcome my friend. Nice seeing you again.
Those stores are in the SF Valley. One on Victory and De Soto called "green acres".
Another one on Ventura and Sepulveda called "go green". Now, they will not shill out 30 percent off and no taxes just because you walk in. You either need to buy quantity or know someone who does :(. Where do you located? Is Valley to far for you?
As far as the seeds, I have several batches I bought from the banks two years ago before I started cutting my own. I have never had a need to plant a single seed because i have clones everywhere :) May I ask why you do not do the same?

Yes. I been growing for 4 years in quantities and yes I have only been using LA tap water that when poured smells like chemicals. I been letting it sit for 24 hours and using it with success.
What I found that the tap water without chlorine has been just as good as RO. I grew with different ware many times and the harves with the tap comes out identical and just as good for years.
Now please. I do not want any arguments and I am not stating that tap is better then RO for everyone. For me it is though and I will not be wasting money installing RO anytime soon.

It's not crazy far for me, definitely good to know for future reference.

I have clones :) Just interested in some variety and trying out some different stuff. Got some seeds in the mail from the bay too so I should be stocked for a bit but for down the line getting some legit seeds local would be nice.

Good to know about the Tap! that helps a lot :)

In the past I been ordering from attitude seedbank. I ordered from them 3 times. All those times the seeds came in safely. So I guess I would recommend them.
Seeds became a more of a nuisance for me nowadays though. I work with few gardens and every now and again the harvest will have them. We just toss them when we do.
As for tap, my friend from Europe is a professional Gardner. He told me that our tap water has some levels of beneficial add ons in it that you won't find anywhere else That trees and flowers really enjoys.

Yes sir :)
Antelope Valley and Palmdale is a place for a grower to be this days.
I know people who just bought a houses to grow in because the property was so cheep there.
An interesting act though. I have two gardens I take care of in Palmdale and I drive around here a lot. However, I could not see a single dispensery anywhere. Wonder why.

But as far as the AV move - if nothing holds you back, it is probably he best move.

You are mostly correct.
I have a relative who rub shoulders with city officials and such.
What I was told that 300 plants is crossing the threshold by which they decide to do a bust.
Everything lower then that, they will not. The only danger be if a cop walks in just by chance and you don't have any papers.
I personally witnessed a situation where there were 100 plants growing. Cops was called in for something else and they just smelled it. They walked in. Checked the papers and left without saying goodby, and I know quite few stories like this here.
