hi, haven't seen this type of thread for awhile or i'm bit blind so decided to make one, one of my favorite topics regarding this lovely plant.

so, like the title asks: what flavors you want but haven't found(yet)? i hope you can keep it within realistic possibilities. i have three that i'm mostly interested about to find: cola, menthol and vanilla. i have some clues about the menthol from suggestions but the two others escape me totally so far. what's yours?

That pine/piney,christmas tree flavor, it use to be everywhere in the 90's. Now I only taste it slightly with other flavors, mostly lemon. Always heard if you plant next to or near pine tree's. The flavor passes on, but I never tried it

Kyara Grade Aloeswood!!....the first time I smelt this I was blown away...it's this mythical ancient forest scent spicy and sour soooo complex it's hard to describe properly. It's one of those scents that floods you with old memories. But aloeswood resin and even the wood is super spendy. One gram of Kyara grade resin can go for upwards of $500! I have caught wiffs of it in Dj's F-13.

Also any aromatic tree woods and resins like spruce, pine, cedar wood, frankincense and sandalwood would be yummy as well.

As for vanilla check out Dj shorts Vanilluna and the cola check out Cannabiogens Punta Rosa.

Great thread!!

I grew a Love Cheese that was a bit like RC Cola. Figured it came from the Love Potion mom. Not a strong smoke. My SLH has a exotic wood resin/ patchouli flavor.

Straight up pine - yaa... That flavor left my area by '92.

Apples, had an amazing apple flavored weed in the 90s. Only once it came around. The guy it came from owned an apple orchard. I think he grew it himself in the orchard.

@Yortbogey: Tabasco would be great, I've came across a few musky phenotypes that kind of resembled tabasco vaguely without the spice and other signature notes; and the Green Crack I had grown from the Kush Creams team had an incredible peanut butter terpene profile, definitely more of a balanced function compared to the sativa dom cut.

@HeriMarry: Definitely a classic flavor, a lot of hawaiian herb has tasted like christmas trees, but I can assure you gaining tree flavor from growing near fragrant pines is a false wives' tale. Does do good for rainfall cover (especially here in the PNW) though you have to constantly fish out the pine needles or suffer the acidity later on..

One that I have encountered and have yet to know or find again, is a strain called Liver that tasted and smelled SPOT ON like chopped liver..the smell is the taste etc. The flavor was so tangy lingering and UNIQUE which is what I strive to deliver.. I got it as a donation from Life Cross in Renton WA and have yet to know the lineage, I've tried many times to find out. All I can think is MAYBE a rank chem pheno or something with a heavenly stone like it had (and I'm a sativa head all day, mind you). Another was from the World Cannabis Market of Tacoma (back in it's prime) called Orange Blossom and it tasted JUST like the smell of orange blossom blooms, amplified. It was incredible. Redbull, glazed donuts, and rootbeer are all wonderful fantasies, lets see what we can do! Those dreaming of menthol and cinnamon, its out there!! I have a Godbud pheno that oddly has really narrow fingers unlike the mom and reeks of marionberry Now N Laters with that flavor riding a menthol kick that makes the unique funk linger and hang after she's over, feeling crisp.

Ones that I would love to see along with combinations of, are terpene profiles that are extremely pungent minty - with little to no other flavors in the mix, KFC fried chicken spices and other peppery goodness I keep hearing about, Red-dirt/sweet alfalfa not like the gross musky hay flavor thats semi-common but an exotic uplifting sugarcane and cream flavor I encountered with just one strain I really want to get back (was a cross of Pineapple Express X White Widow), and that specific purp funk from GDP/Querkle like strains but amplified...almonds? macadamias? I have a very sturdy BOG Sour Lifesaver stud at the moment that has a really nice pungent but light flavor a lot like eucalyptus oil..what minty mom should I pave that path with? He opens in a few weeks..

Nice post choom! :tiphat:

Regarding that 'Liver' strain you were talkin about; the other day I was browsing through seeds at a site and ran across a strain called Blazing Blues from Sure Fire which involves a cut of Skunk called 'Blues' or 'Livers'. Here's the description in full:

"Blazing Blues is a build up of a Skunk#1 pheno called Blues also known as Livers which has been a close guarded UK clone only for the best part of 20 years. A lot more potent than Dj Shorts Blueberry with a serious chemical blueberry punch. Hit with the reversed pollen of the Casey Jones in the hope of adding a lot more trichome coverage without compromising on taste and hopefully adding more couchlock to the high."

Not sure if this is the same cut, especially since it's a UK one, but I figured i'd let ya know about it.

Great thread, like some others I want to find a straight up pine flavoured strain. I was going to ask this in strains and hybrids.

I'm desperate to find it as I have a breeding project going on and I'm desperate to find this.

Anyone can help, I would be very grateful. Years ago I grew a strain known as Bigger Pine and it was very strong in the flavour and the high was awesome, that was in the early nineties.

I have an incredible Zamaldelica male that when crossed is amazing every time and if I can isolate a pine flavour I will be happy!
