My first indoor grow: seeds ordered, narrowing down equipment

Well not too worried about fan noise, just the amount of air. I was reading the controllers that are aftermarket, they can ruin the fan motor because they are not brushless. Not sure if it's that big of a deal.

Id recomend not growing those 2 strains together. Unless you wanna learn how to super crop asap.
The haze cross will most likely get much taller than that AK. And keeping the canopy even is important to yield decently.
As somebody who grows up to 8 different strains under 1 light, for years, if your gonna do a salad run, its best to pick strains with similar heights and finishing times. Thats Another thing to consider, the haze cross will prolly take 11-13 week to finish and the Ak prolly around 9.
Id also recomend doing only one row of plants. I think you said the closet is only 36 inches deep, so unless your gonna do a small plant, sea of green, id only do a single row.
Can you make the 2 sections of your closet light tight?
That way you could veg on 1 side, flower on the other.

Oh ok. Cool to know. I'll just try 2 strains, the AK and the PM dawn, if they still have it. If they don't have any more PM dawn, as the site now says, what do you recommend to grow along w the AK?
I'm all worried about timing as I know I'll be out for 5 days right about second week of march...should be about week 4 to 6, depending on seed growth. Thinking dripped or aquarium pump on a timer?

Are you growing soil or coco?(if you haven't decided, do yourself a favor and go read the organic recycled soil thread now!) You could make self irrigating planters, basically a tub of perlite or lava rocks that your pots sit on with water up to about 2 inches away from the bottom of the pots.
I got the 400w light off amazon and this thing is definitely a steal and it has a 3 year warranty

if u r growing in soil ,water good ,they should b fine.
if in coco/hydro get a timer.

Soil always works. It is more forgiving then anything. And remember PH 6.4-6.8 will get you places
Yeah thanks. I read how the ph balance is important. I will get some cheap test strips initially. If my grow is fun as I'm imagining, I'll buy a digital meter.

I'll reiterate, start here https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=241964 and go from there. I really recommend CC's mix or better yet since your on a smaller scale you could get the KIS nutrient pack.
Take it from someone who has messed with PH stuff, you want to avoid that at all cost imo. FYI those ph pens are mostly crap unless you buy a very expensive one, my 200 hanna pen hardly ever worked properly and its a common problem. Using the drops you can get a pretty accurate reading and if your gonna PH much more preferable to the pens.
I know it seems kinda daunting to make your own soil and it seems easier to just go buy some FFOF or promix which may be some what true in the short run but your learning curve will be way steeper and the initial quality of product will probably be a lot lower.
KIS nutrient pack is $40, bale of peat $14, bag of good compost $20, bag of perlite $10. So for around $85 you have 30 gals of a badass soil mix that can be watered all the way thru with plain water and recycled indefinitely as it should just get better and better with time.
Compare that to buying 30 gals of FFOF $40 with the best deal(prob more like 60) and nutrients ~$40 depending on brand and how much additives used. That's one use and your done for the most part too.

if this is your out and out first grow... i would say seed wise lowryder #2 jack herer autos and a small indica maybe a widow or a skunk mix. those plants can get tortured and still give up fairly nice yeilds. if its not your first grow try doing some big nugged autos or indicas
buy a good soil mix pro mix,SS#4, or whatever ,a good fert don't worry about ph.
buy seed with the same time frame like [8-9 weeks ][56-65 days]

Aaarrrgg.... Looks like my 125 bucks is vaporized... The depot shipped on the 5th... 15 days later still nada. No letter either! Dag nab bit. Am I being too impatient?
When I was cleaning and prepping for my grow room, I found an old bag of dirt weed with a bunch of seeds! Wonder if I should just try to pop those! Lol

Well poopie. Its not getting here. The seeders. I trust the seed bank, as HD has a great reputation. They are communicating w me and all. I think it was returned because It had my name on it for another address where I wasn't listed as a resident (I didn't know the PO returns mail, I get mail all the time w other peoples names at my addy_)... so maybe in a few months after it gets returned all the way back to Canada, I might then have it shipped....
Just boo. OK I'm burning some more mexican dirt and while I was twising a spiff for a brief half hour buzz, LOL (this stuff isn't too potent), some seeds fell out.
I'm thinking, am I wasting my time getting my thumb wet on shitty bag seeds for my first grow? I could probably get 25 of them wet and pop more than half. But I only need 4 great girls. Whats the chances?
Does the THC content get any better if I grow it like nugbuckets w main lining them in my 400 W vertical set up I'm doing here:

I would roll out with the bag seed for sure.If the weed had a smell and there wasnt ten thousand seeds in it you might be alright and you could find a gem!Or you could get a hermie who knows.Id try it out.Id start them out on 12/12 just to keep the size and length of time down.Just my opinion get your feet wet!I guarantee if you get a female the weed will blast that bag away in quality

Yeah, the bag has a small odor. Nothing like that sweet great white shark I just burned up I miss that smoke! LOL
Not 10K, but some seeds. I got about 10 grams and maybe there is 25 seeds, so some hope. I guess I'll give this a run. What the hell? All this will do is get me to get all my equipment ready and go through a test run for the REAL DEAL when it gets here!
