drove around denver this morning, so cool to see the entire city kinda empty, EXCEPT, all the rec shops have lines out the door, parking lots overflowing, news cameras at some... so cool to see, snapped some pics but can't find my cam. card reader, will upload eventually.

I will note that I passed a few shops open to rec that were not on the list in the westword or post, i saw:
3d on brighton,
denver kush club, 5 points
northern lights, sloans lake area on sheridan
bud depot, sloans lake area on sheridan
green solution, alameda near fed.
the grove (strainwise) , on federal around 1st

I'm curious as to what strains they are selling on the
retail side.

One news station, said the retail side, had a 'cap' on potency.

Talked to a sheriff yesterday...was happily going to patrol around the dispensaries to pick up DUI offenders. Said all borders will be searched, cars and with w/ dogs....imagine that will happen for a few months then hopefully slack off. Of course the airports will be on "high alert" (pun).

He was in S. Pueblo yesterday watching folks @ Greener Side 2.

@ JohnnyATL....even though you slam Pueblo....you'll go there for the goods!???! Might make a believer out of you yet! GS#2...owner from ABQ originally. Good to know there's transplants from New Mexico...myself included.

Just watch the Raton Pass border.

haha its the closest rec town right now. Hopefully san luis, ft garland, or alamosa will get up and running soon. Its not that I "dont like" pueblo per say, its just stressful driving 25 on that curvy ass 3 lane road and all the sprawl and mills are ugly thats all. I live in the country so im not used to traffic lol. I actually take the walsenberg highway over la veta pass and back through ft garland

NM Hwy 522 to CO 159 is a non existent border...hoping it doesn't have a lone patrolperson with his friendly canine near Costilla. May happen when more communities gear up. Not sure if sheriff was trying to alarm or refute..."every border". I wish you luck when you drive North.

right!
i buy the flower that i get half off of for the place that i work. i grow for them so i know whats in it.
even then its not that often.
i find myself more on the concentrate hunt more than anything.
RETAIL BUD for most will be just as good as medical. at least where i work. grown by the same people and just as much attention given.
i could post a pic and tell ya its retail
if ya want.....

That's exactly it. It Boils down to attention. Places that just turn stuff out and don't pay the living plant attention will not achieve the primo. IMHO

Along with many many fuck ups. Haha.

So you grow their bud, but you get 50% off their price and are happy with it?

Why not just grow your own and get 100% of it?

May I ask what you get paid for this arrangement besides getting 50% off your purchases, an what all do you do for that wage?

Oh, please. Colorado's dual source plan, grow your own or buy retail/medical provides the best current extant situation for cannabis lovers. It's the only place in the world where both growing & buying are state legal, giving consumers the widest choices & availability.

We plan to use retail for sampling a wider variety of genetics than we can practically grow in a reasonable amount of time. Lots of Coloradans formerly disconnected from modern cannabis will be doing the same thing both for the purposes of identifying what they want to grow & what they want to smoke in the future.

Not everybody can grow their own (or enough of their own) for a variety of reasons. But they have the same right to legal cannabis as those who grow, so taxable retail cannabis is a necessary part of the equation. It's the price of legalization.

It's a whole new paradigm, a whole new way of looking at it that gets cannabis on the legal side of the fence. Obviously, compromises were made to make that happen, but tokers still win big, very big.

In Colorado, we're legit, over the pass, rolling down the easy side, free of all the bullshit endured to get there. Well, other than the baggage we bring along.

Perfect? Nah, but it's entirely liveable and doable for everybody, stoned & straight alike, and a helluva big improvement all around. It's an opportunity to open our minds to even greater awakening.

Once this all settles in over the next few years, once the new non-threatening reality comes into being I think there will be more favorable change down the road. The reality of legal weed will simply overwhelm the threatening stereotypes promulgated in the WoD and its predecessors. That's not who tokers are, never were, and this coming out of sorts lets us show the world more of the truth. Life in Colorado will go on, mostly unchanged except for the better.

It's a chance to heal some of the damage of the "Righteous Us" vs "Wicked Them" Paradigm all too common in this country. It's a chance for people to look a little deeper, too, and to see how we're manipulated into that societally destructive headset all too often.
