I have been racking my brain for ideas for a new business (startup?) that can be started up in Colorado that revolve around the marijuana industry… anyone have any ideas?

Peyton Manning already came up with the best idea and bought 200 Pappa Johns in a state with newly legalized munchies.

How about a hotel that caters to the tourists? Like has all smoking rooms equipped with air scrubber/ vents. And of course a great snack bar

Amendment 64 does not allow smoking marijuana openly in public. I would guess black out windows in a Limo solves that problem. You can't drive the Limo under the influence, but the Limo seems to be the ticket to pot tourism. If hotels prohibit smoking marijuana, it puts a damper on where tourist can smoke.

I've read a few articles in the paper about combining pot tourism and Colorado tourism. Which of course means driving around to vacation worthy locations, either touring the mountains or touring the various businesses that support Colorado's marijuana industry, retail stores, edible manufacturing facilities, clubs and so on. No smoking in hotel rooms, in public, or on federal land / forests, or while driving a car, certainly limits tourist opportunities to keep it legal. Colorado is one of the most beautiful states in the country.

Downtown Denver, the ski resorts and wilderness areas being the most popular year round destinations. I can't imagine Colorado tourists visiting and not spending time in the mountains, and its a long drive from the Denver International Airport to just about anywhere.

Get yourself a crew of peeps with snowmobiles and drag all the newbie stoners who cant ski/snowboard and fuck themselves up on the slopes and take them to the ER.
Make sure to bring a few dabs for them

I would go with the first two and teach growing classes, the growing classes could specify for recreational or medicinal grows and cover the building/tending and pest control; also have a hydroponics curriculum and a soil curriculum.

setup a serious teaching atmosphere, flexible class sched's and you will make money hand over fist.

have a graduation package (a tent of some sort with a hydro supply package or soil supply package) at the end that the students choose , the package that they choose will dictate tuition cost for the course.

give the students special rates/discounts when they buy from your store; the headshop is a given and they will make their way to it.

I would also sell cuts/ rooted clones/ whole plants male and female; I wouldn't mess with the seed too much especially if its legal, hell, why bother with seed at all? pop the seeds, find the keepers and rock out from there

lots of ways to spin this thing, good luck!

anybody know the legality of smoking in limo's in colorado?

The Post ran an article where this came up. I believe it was yesterday (12/31/2013) or perhaps the Sunday Post on 12/29.

You can't smoke cannabis or anything else in a public transit vehicle such as a bus, taxi or limo that is through a service like execu-car or Uber, since they are considered open to the public, but a privately hired limo can allow smoking.

I'm no lawyer, so I could be wrong, and the legislature has yet to clearly define what is public and what is private. This in itself is the answer to your question - become a lawyer! They are going to make a lot of money supporting this industry and helping define its legal boundaries.

Cheers and Happy New Year!
