RP Sour Diesel info

So a few months ago I ran and grew Reserva Privada's sour diesel, overall I have mixed feelings about it and wondered if I could get some insight.

I had some outdoor and indoor, the pics shown are indoor. Outdoor there was 2 that looked alike, pretty good, bit of a sour smell, 1 was very fuely-citrusy smelling and the last was similar to the stinky one but a bit less pungent and a lot more indica structure. What I did indoor for the most part was the pheno of the pic I posted.

My main question is is this a proper representation of SD? It looks similar to some Chems I've seen online and I know it has the same lineage.

It has a strong Sour fuely smell and is a pretty strong bud but I don't think it lives up to expectations. It hits and it tastes great but it doesn't hit like I expected from such a fabled and sought after bud. The reason it doesn't impress me a lot is growing up I was once given a Diesel bud (I think just diesel not SD) that wreaked like gas and literally hit me with every pull. I'm tryna find some heavy hitters like that (haha who isn't).

I want to separate what's good from what's great and with the litany of chem/sd knowledge on here I was wondering if some experienced heads can chime in.

I'm currently running chem 91 SK va, I hear all the shady shit about swerve but wanted to see for myself. But seeing as I've now read that he has ratted on other growers I have no interest in buying anything else of hism

Sour Diesel is my favorite smoke!
* I grow it a lot of seasons but I have only limited experience of the rez dog IBL (riri) who's consider the pinnacle of my gene pool (ECSD)
SD grows like roses all the branches extend from the bottom of the mountain and reach almost the top of a maturation period is 75 days +-shaped flowers are white but are completely gray smell is completely beautifully intoxicating lavender lemon oil and many other terpenes which are compared to today's FMD Dutch grass completely thrilling bow compliment Rez dog for this achievement.

If you are not satisfaction by a simple Reserva Privada and I do not blame
I would like to see the smoke management from you, I was warned in time I had to taste it too!

DNA/RP's regular version of Sour Diesel is actually Original Sour Diesel x Sour Cream, then BX'd.
Sour Cream is Sour Diesel x g13haze, IMO the g13haze would water down the sour traits.

There isn't many really good representations of Sour Diesel available in the seed market anymore.

I've got Reservoirs old Sour Diesel IBL, and I was lucky enough to find a really good one.

You've got to watch out, because a lot of seed companies use the "sour diesel" name to sell their seeds but if you look at the genetics there is no sour diesel in their crosses at all. East Coast Sour Diesel is the one you want, if they don't use that don't bother.

Hey I have grown a lot of RP/DNA stuff. I have amazing keepers of many of their strains(OG Kush, OG18, LA Confidential,Silver LA, Sour Kush, Kandy Kush) , but the Sour Diesel they have is the worst thing I have grown by them. I would say quite surely that real Sour Diesel is much better than whatever these guys are selling as Sour Diesel. The RP Sour Kush is closer to Sour Diesel, but still obviously OG Kush. RP has lots of awesome Californian strains, but if you want Sour Diesel look else where.

SD is super friggin demanding when curing sometimes...It takes a little while with this stuff to really make that nasty fuel smell come out. Curing jar humidity level of 65% should be "BURPED IMMEDIATELY!!" taken out to dry, out for maybe an hour and then thrown back into the jar. Aim to keep the Curing Jar's Humidity between 50-60% when going back and forth in and out of the jar until a balance humidity and let that humidity sit in the jars for 2 weeks to a month checking them periodically making sure your Jar Humidity does not break 65%.

But for Sour-Diesel....Yeah, it looks about right... For some reason I've noticed that the strain SD (by its'self) tends to become a victim of Calcium and Magnesium buildup from common household water sources from the buildups that are in our pipes. She's a sensitive girl... I'm gonna take a wild guess here... the ones you had outdoor did not have the same yellowing necrosis with white/brown speckles forming in spots that get bigger and bigger killing leaves? slowly??

She looks fine in my opinion... SD is sensitive YET hardy at the same time cuz she won't give up...But she really doesn't like "UNCLE SAM'S" water!

I only have 16 seeds of my SD left.....Maybe it's time to make antoher batch tho cuz I really love this bud....Nice job on the grow man!!!

Nice^

I never seen these replies til now but ya it seems that what everyone is saying coincides with what I've seen. RP sour diesel while a good strain is not a proper representation of ecsd.

The smell is there but not gassy enough, it doesn't 'sting the nostrils' so to speak. Lacks the potency too in my opinion and this is consistent with 3 different phenos I've seen.

A quick review of the RP sour for me would be
85/100 taste
55/100 potency
70/100 bag appeal
80/100 smell

Overall 69/100

It's not a bad strain by any means just it isn't cutting it for me.

I'm running cc original sd. It's a nice plant but it's not what I remeber being sd. I'm no sd pro but I just think it seams watered down or something taste is mild so is smell but is very potent.

My rp sour d is nothing like what has been mentioned so far. After looking as some skunk va pics , I can clearly see the resemblance. I almost didn't keep a mother of this one after reading these reviews.

Perhaps you found a more favourable pheno or they reworked the line on newer seeds? I went through two packs of them before and while I enjoyed the taste and smell, it was pretty sour but definitely was not the level of potency I anticipated.
