Brewing Tea Without Airstone

Hi,

I want to brew some beneficial organic tea but due to space and location its to dangerous to leave a airpump with a airstone connected and running 24/7 as when it gets to late at night my neighbors would be able to hear the pump going and problems would shortly follow.

Is it possible to just leave a powerful submersible pump like a maxijet 500/1000 running 24/7 in a 60l bin, would that provide enough D.O for the beneficials ect. Thank you.

if it gets the water moving nicely I would think so, maybe use it to create an air lift/waterfall if you can.

I kinda have the same problem with my pump as it's so loud and I havn't gotten arolind to sound proofing it so I just make quick teas for 2-10 hours. Works for me.

Thanx man i appreciate the support as this arrangement would really work out for me if it works of course as ill be able to just leave the tea brewing 24/7 adding food for them every 3 days and maybe abit more spores ect. Right now with the air pump im having to mask the sound with other sounds but come late at night thats defiantly not an option and thats when the tea would become anaerobic.

The water surface of the bucket moves rapidly and twist & turns on itself quite quickly with the submersible pump but im not sure how to do a waterfall i might have to look into that.

I googled that pump and it appears to be a water pump. Impeller + microbes equal not a good idea.

Air pumps only my friend.

aaaaargh crap the dream is dead, thanx for that bit of info i missed that aspect that the bodies of the microbes might become damaged from the pumps internal mechanisms, ill have to come up with something else.

get a better air pump.them ones from walmart work fine and aint loud. I have done airpumps and waterfall effect with pond pump . both worked for me but my waterfall had a good drop an I was using 55 gal drums. I tried modifying the waterfall too. in a circle like a drip ring type and running through net basket with geolite then plastic bio balls. worked great but I don't have microscope . plants always loved it no issues. finally I use airpump with also a waterfarm type thing airlift but that's noisy as hell blub blub blub .think m man got me headed the right direction. in the real world a pond pump worked fine no matter what the concensus is. I am sure all the benificials didn't get whacked LOL

thanx for the reply im going to have to look into a better pump i think the air pump im using is just to strong and the maxijet not fit for purpose for obvious reasons. The walls are quite thick its just the neighbors are a little prang that i clearly to them only dont live at the property but visit it all the time, its probably me just over thinking things but the sound of my powerful KOI air pump going at 11pm would alert them to the fact that somethings being run my side.

If you hang your air pump from a rope or string it will cut out all of the vibration noise that you here. Thats what I do with my giant pumps for my 55 gallon brewers.

some ideas:

i wanna know if this works:
The Super Oxygenator (Portable) is the most versatile and powerful oxygen generator O2 Marine has ever developed.. The Super Oxygenator™ manufactures 100% pure oxygen by splitting the hydrogen molecule from the oxygen molecule in water. This creates a super saturated oxygen environment, even in the warmest water. The Super Oxygenator is for live wells and coolers. Powered by either a small 12 volt battery or 110 volt household current, makes the Oxygenator perfect for someone transporting minnows, or keeping bait alive at home. It’s powerful enough to use in boat live wells up to 30 gallons. What’s more impressive is the Super Oxygenator has the ability to incorporate a recirc pump via a kit for substandard live wells or a cooler conversion into the perfect minnow bucket.
