Howdy folks, lookin for strain suggestions. Gonna run a couple plants outdoor this year. Summers in the high desert of the mojave can be pretty brutal so i need a strain that can take the heat. July and August are the killer months.
thanx

I have been looking into the same thing. I was considering going with Sandstorm from Cannabiogen. Moraco x PCK

Consider using a shade cloth too. Pot can take high temps, it is just not ideal. Keep em watered and they will survive.

Egyptian Sinai from real seeds, this strain has been grown deep in the desert for a very long time, the Sinai desert typically hits 50°c in summer.

Put em In the ground let the roots have all the room they can use. we dug a 6ft wide hole mix In some promix and ffof. I feed em the leftover nutes from the indoor.if you prep the ground the roots will find what they need in the soil

G day I'm an Aussie and I have to deal with extreme heat over summer as do most Aussie's ! I think it more about preparation than any specific strain or variety ,with pots I wrap them in aircell insulation or even cardboard and keep them well watered through the day ,with garden beds the key to it is mulch mulch and more mulch and plenty of water.we just had a spell of 44 deg (111 deg f)
Pots wraped in Aircell

My garden beds are kept topped up with mulch about 4 inches deep I use lucerne hay and replenished it as it breaks down and eaten by worms every couple of week

You dont want to use air pots...your plants will dry out a lot quicker. You'll also want to cover the soil with a plastic sheet to keep moisture in the soil for as long as possible.

As far as what strains...i would look into anything that grows well in North Africa. :joint:

I saw that somebody was selling seeds of a variety supposedly from Sinai... damned if I can find it. Dunno about the quality, but they'd have to be well adapted to hot & dry.

Found a thread-

Some Spanish outdoor genetics would probably do well with a little more care, maybe Queen Mother or something from Ace or Cannabiogen.

The 2 mandala strains we grew, rishi kush & satori, absolutely thrived indoors during a very bad heat wave last August. I couldn't bring light on temps much below 100F the last couple of weeks of flowering. Two Satori I gave to a friend did fine outdoors through it all, and he's not much of a gardener.
