10 Gallon Organic Soil with BluMats - I Need Advice!!

The distribution drippers work really good. i use a maxi with 6 dist drippers per pot and they all drip at the same rate. I might even try 7 per pot i know they say only 5, but 6 works just as good and gives more even coverage for larger pots. Some factors to consider are how much pressure you have from the res and how many pots. I love these things

I use a single regular blumat per 7-15 gallon smart pots with 3 distibution drippers each. They are attached to a rain catchment set of barrels and I am very happy with the results. I may upgrade to more drippers per blumat or have been considering puncturing a length of line several times for more even distribution, but it seems to be working great as is. I run perpetual with 4 going into flower every week. And with those numbers I can't imagine watering any other way anymore.

I see an advantage to the regular over the maxi as the regular blumat measures the surface moisture and will continue watering until the surface is at the desired wetness. I leave a saucer below each pot and turn them down if water is visible and turn them up if dry until I can feel moisture through the side of the smart pot.

Hi, Im new to posting. I run 10 gallon smart pots with one maxi per pot, with 3 slave drippers. It works pretty good, except there is a minor dry spot behind the tropf blumat sensor. I hand water to compensate. Sometimes I run 2 maxis with a total of 6 slave drippers. 2 seems like a little over kill...

Seems like this guy has got it figured out ^^^^. I'm going to try 6 or 7 slave drippers to one maxi. This should work perfect, even within their specified spacing of slave drippers.:tumbleweed:

I have been running blumats for over a year now. Best thing ever. None the less. I use two regular size blumats in 10 gallon no till totes. Never have had an issue.

For 5 gallons, I'd suggest one regular blumat with at least three drippers or some form of drip line for each pot.

I could just read and read and run myself in circles trying to get all the latest and greatest info for BluMats… but I was hoping you kind experienced blumat’ers could help me out.

I recently committed to using the BluMats 100%, I really can’t see a reason to avoid it any longer.

I just purchased a Patio set of 12 BluMats but I fear that they are to small and will be only used for my actual patio plants… or possibly my veg room.

The flower room is where I need help:

Typically 12 Plants in 7-10 Gallon containers with Organic Soil…. Usually a super soil.

The plants are grouped in 2’s and are 11 days apart as a perpetual grow.

The water needs of all the plants are different based on their different times in the flower room.

I was hoping to put a large reservoir about 4 feet off the ground on top of a large workbench I have near my tent.

Now here is what I’m confused on

Should I buy 2 Patio Kits and just put 2 of the blumats into each 10 Gallon Smart Pot?

Should I buy the Maxi Blumats and use those?

Should I buy 2 Maxi’s for each plant?

Anyone out there rocking organic soil with 10 gallons and having success?

:tiphat:
I use 10 gal pots and never use the maxis. I've done it both ways using one of the regular ones per pot and also I've used two per pot. It really doesn't matter. It works fine both ways...

^ like one blumat sensor per 10 gal? - I'm looking to buy for a buddy of mine who cant run computers and I'm not understanding how many drippers come per sensor? It seems to me it's 1 dripper per 1 sensor but I see above people are saying "one regular blumat with 3 drippers" -- I feel like I'm missing something.

He plans to run 10 gal plants and I'm wondering if buying a 40 pack will be enough for him if he has 20 plants in 10 gals

Thanks in advance! -- I'm thinking it will be enough because that's 2 sensors/drippers PER 10 gal, but I don't wanna screw him over and not buy enough...

bump, if anyone could answer that would be great. Either for 10g or 7.5g, What is needed per pot. Truly thinking of switching over because of an expansion upcoming.

Better late than never huh? I set up my 7 Gal. pots today. I used two Blumats per pot and everything seems to ok so far. Obviously set them up on opposite sides of the plant. I am using plastic pots so I figured the regular size Blumats will work just fine. Another thing to keep in mind is mulching. I'd imagine a nice layer of mulch ought to save you a lot of reservoir filling. Like I said, I'm new to Blumats as well. All I know is what I've read from other users so take it for what it's worth. I'll post again if anything necessary comes up.
