Needs ideas on small grow space.

I have a closet that is 6ft long 2ft wide and 8 ft tall. I have several concerns.
1. Cool tubes or hoods?
2. 6" or 8"
3. What size inline fan(cfm's)
4. Wattage
I have a small cab in there now running 4" and 400 watts. It is doing fine. However, I wish to convert the entire space to grow. This is an unusual space and has double doors. I was thinking 8" inline fan 8" carbon filter and two 6" cool tubes. I will have two ballasts in the room and panda film covering door openings with zipper. I only have the option of air coming under the door to make up my intake. My cab that is in this closet reaches 80F at highest point. But when I put two lights in this space it could get crazy hot potentially. So please hit me with ideas I'm ready. Thanks

I got a closet with double doors that I was considering for you-know-what, but could never figure out how to stealthify the doors. Got any pics?

Right now I gave a suncast tool shed in the closet. I stapled panda film to the top of the door opening and put a broom stick on the bottom of the film. When I open the doors I grab the broom stick and just roll it up. When I convert the whole closet I will attach top of panda film the same and probably Velcro sides to sills and have a zipper in the middle. If you leave the panda film a little long on bottom toucan fold it back this will block light from under the door but still allow passive intake of air. At least I hope so.

that's helpful. But I take it you're not worried about security?

Not sure you understand. From outside the closet it looks like normal. No light leaks. I have a deadbolt installed that is the only thing unusual about the doors. If someone asks it is where I keep our guns and documents.

hows the heat build up in the closet? you could rock out some 600's with cool ambient temps and a nice exhaust to the attic. 6" would work fine, i like the S&P silent fans.

if its personal smoke id bust out some 42 watt cfls or t5s and rock out. check out Drbudgreenjeans cab for inspiration.

with a 2 ft wide area a few 400s would be fine. 600s would be overkill bigtime. always use biggest ducting you can. with 2 lights there is gonna be deadspots between lamps. hoods and tubes throw light left and right mainly. you wont have much light overlap unless you turn hoods making ducting messy and maybe not possible.IMHO 3 ,400s would rock if possible

My first grow was in a space almost exactly like that. I ended up doing DWC with 2 400 watt lights. I was able to grow 5 plants, and did three crops there before moving.

The biggest problem I had was cooling the room.

Now, after 10+ years of experience I have very specific ideas about how to use such a space, and a very efficient grow system.

Here's a pic of my Aero/NFT system that can be built to fit your area perfectly with no wasted space.

Cooling is still the main issue, but if you use 2 400s in 6" cool tubes with a icebox chiller at the exhaust end of the lights you should be able to keeps temps in the 70s with no problem.

PM me if you want to discuss it more.

Wouldn't let me pm you. I cannot use a chiller for lights. Getting to complicated for me. If I run two 8" cool tubes in there with a 8" inline fan with 8" carbon filter will I be able to pull enough of conditioned house air in there through cracks in doors and under them?

What is on the outside of the inside walls of your room? If it's a hallway or another room, just cut a 4 or 6 inch hole in the wall and put a fake vent on the outside. It's an intake hole, so smell won't be an issue, just light-proof it.
