I lost my championship by 2 pts when I had Vernon Davis and my opponent had the SF Def for Monday night. I was ahead by 9pts. VD was held catchless and SF returned a ryan int for a td with like a minute left. So yeah, SF failed me this week.
It's getting a little interesting, there's still a chance SF could get home field for the playoffs or part of the playoffs.

St louis tends to play their divisional opponents tough. Bottom line, if you can hold SEA's offense to 14 or less at the Link you have a chance to win, because you're not going to score a lot on that defense, with that crowd noise.
When's Harvin coming back? Dude has earned all of his money in the training room, not on the field so far.

Harbaugh definitely is one of the most animated coaches when yelling at refs. Really tries to communicate with body language, lol. But i fear the backlash by refs who view his actions as whining and petulant. The refs have pride too, and they don't like being shown up either. Or, they have limits like everyone else.

St. Louis would love to fuck up our (Seattle's) #1 seed opportunity this Sunday... It's a heavy game!

Very true, your statement. Although it's their profession to officiate with composure and fairness, they are human. And no matter what mistakes they make, gotta give it up to those guys for putting up with it all. Trust me, favoring a team either way (even if it's my own) is crap, but I'm sure they (90% of them) walk onto the field with the same level of pride as the players and coaches.

With all tha said, even as a Hawks fan, I get a kick out of Harbaugh every 9ers game I watch.

Anywho, no matter the outcome of the rest of the regular season and playoffs, a futile and entertaining battle is sure to ensue.

I'm ready!

Oh and I think we are saving Percy for the playoffs, that's the local rumor, although I've heard no official word. I really hope he can contribute this postseason and have a productive off season to be 100% next year and not be a bust. For his sake and Seattle's.

Harvin is done for the year now. I just read it the other day on yahoo and espn.

That was blind luck the way the 49ers won. Blind luck. They just don't look that good to me. If they lose on Sunday and the Cardinals and Saints both win the 49ers don't even make the playoffs.

If the Rams beat Seattle, and I am actually confident they are going too, and 49ers beat the Cardinals then Seattle drops to the #5 seed. Without home field advantage Seattle is totally beatable and not even a favorite at that point.

The thing that is going to save Seattle IMHO is there is no way in hell San Francisco is going to win in Arizona against the Cardinals. The season could be ending for San Fran on Sunday.

What will espn do when San Fran is not in the playoff and Seattle is bounced in the first round? Who will they talk about? What about the Kapernick and Wilson commercials? They could just play RG III commercials. They don't have any Andrew Luck commercials because there aren't any. He is too busy playing football. You make commercials when you have proven yourself. Not fresh out the box.

No, you make commercials when some mega corporation waives a million dollars in your face for a day or two of work (filming).
True, there's always the threat of backlash when your career doesn't work out, but you gotta get that paper when you can, right?

It's disappointing about Harvin, maybe SEA should realize that Minnesota is trading their WR's for a reason? And not because they're so good and durable...

I think Harbaugh should have different 'gears' as far as dealing with refs. He should only pull out the full blown exasperation look on big plays. Which maybe he does, i dont watch enough games and the games dont show all of his sideline demeanor anyway, but if you're always going after the refs for whatever annoys you, then they start to tune you out.

Congrats, Whadeez.

I was wrong in my last post. San Fran has clinched a playoff spot. It is the Saints that could not make the playoffs. San Fran can still be the #1 seed.

From Yahoo sports...

5. x-San Francisco 49ers (11-4, clinched playoff berth; at Cardinals [10-5], 4:25 ET)
• 1: Win at the Cardinals + Seahawks loss to the Rams + Panthers loss/tie at the Falcons
• 2: Win + Seahawks loss + Panthers win
• 5: Win + Seahawks win/tie; or Loss/tie + Saints loss/tie to Buccaneers
• 6: Loss + Saints win

Bababooey are you saying nobody offered Luck any money to do commercials?

He turned them down because he didn't want any distractions while he learned his new job. If I were an owner of a big corporation and my highest paid NEW executive was being paid huge amounts of money by someone else to do things for them I would intervene and stop them. I would want them giving 100% of their time and energy to my business and what they had to do for me. At least until they had their feet on the ground.

but that's not how it works in sports. Nobody takes time off from training camp, practices or team meetings to make commercials. That being said their uncommitted time is their own to do as they please and their bosses could be held accountable for restraint of trade unless his contract specifically forbids endorsements, and we know that ain't in ANY sports contract. Any choices Luck makes are his own.

They get the playbook right away. Almost immediately after they sign. They never really have nothing football related to do. I think when RG III and Luck were being signed the thing that held their contracts up was trying to limit their endorsements. The owners and coaches know it takes some of their focus away.

Any choices Luck makes are his own.

Exactly! My point is that Luck didn't do those things. Now he wants to be a football star not a TV star.

I have to give Wilson and Kapernick some wiggle room though because they were mid round and lower picks and didn't get the ton of cash Luck and RG III did. So I will limit my negativity to just RG III. He didn't need any more money. He needed more commitment and less exposure.

Luck gets his share of the spotlight though on espn. The one who is just as good as all of them that doesn't get much press at all is Tannehill. Foles made people notice him but Tannehill is overlooked.

What game does everyone thinks is the game of the week? Based on importance and how hard it will be played?

I think Ravens and Bengals is going to be a great one.

On the matter of Percy Harvin, the articles you speak of have just been Pete Carroll hinting at the fact that they are considering putting him on IR and bagging him for the rest of the year... I really wouldn't be completely surprised if this ends up being the case, but no official word yet, and the 12th man is very hopeful. They are waiting to see if the cortisone shots helped or not, apparently. Not holding my breath here.

The STL vs. Seattle game has now turned out to be huge for Seattle, because you are correct, that home field advantage for Seattle is huge. But worst case, we drop to the #5 seed, I think it's hard to say that Seattle wouldn't even be a favorite - and no, that is not a completely biased opinion (only a little hehe)... We only lost 2 games on the road... 50% of the teams whom will finish in the playoffs this year will have double that. I really would not discredit Seattle yet - although, what worries me is the fact that the horrific game last weekend may have been a confidence killer... The Hawks certainly need to play the way they are expected to if they plan on going anywhere this postseason. It's been an up and down year as far as actual performance goes, setting the 12-3 record aside, with many of those wins coming in crunch time. If we apply that to the playoffs, hopefully Seattle can embrace the notoriety of winning under pressure this year...

WE NEED A DAMN CHAMPIONSHIP IN SEATTLE.

All I'm gonna say.

As far as 9ers fans... I actually do have respect for the 49ers, despite the rivalry that has ensued. I was pullin' for them last year one Seattle got knocked out... and this year they've made an excellent early turn-around with the possibility to finish the season out very strong with great momentum into the playoffs. I can easily admit that SanFran's roster is excellent, Harbaugh cracks me up... SF has a very good team.

See that? Seahawks fans can have some class.

All I'm gonna say.

Yes, I think SEA needs a championship. Having lost their nba franchise, and coming close in '05 with Shaun Alexander, it would be a good story if they made it all the way this time.

I made the mistake of sorta kinda wanting the Packers to win the SB in 2011 when they knocked out the Bears, figuring that hey maybe it's a win for the NFC North, but quickly earned the enmity of some Bears fans. You Never Ever root for your rival, under any circumstances, unless the fate of the human race is at stake.

Harvin was supposed to be the guy to take that offense over the top, but so far they've scored pretty well even without him. Still, maybe he would have made a difference against the Cards if he was healthy? All it takes is one big play...
But you hear the stories about him from when he was at Florida under Urban Meyer, and now he's barely played, makes me wonder if they wouldnt be better off without him there. Not that he's causing any trouble, yet, Carroll knows how to keep players happy, but he didnt leave Minny on good terms...

I would think the game of the week has to be the divisional winner take all ones, Bears-Packers, Dallas-Eagles. Not that either winner is likely to advance far in the playoffs, but that's my :2cents:

That's a good point about Luck. As the #1 draft pick last year, he got a 22mil/4 year contract with a 14mil signing bonus. So he's got his millions now, and is looking at a 20mil/year average once his current contract is done (maybe 25/year by then). So yeah, he doesn't have much incentive to whore himself out for commercials, even for an extra million or two, and I understand why he wanted to make sure he's a good player first before appearing in national ads. Makes sense.

game of the week Romo or not is still the Eagles@Cowboys matchup, how many times have we seen a 2nd string QB rise to the occasion??? Defenses getting caught flat footed because of slight changes of play. gonna be an interesting game for sure.......

sure there's a bunch of 'if this team wins or that team loses' games and some important in determining home field advantage etc, but I like the Philly/Dallas game for its 'win or loser stays home' finality.

Andrew Luck and some of his team have done promo spots for Community, the NBC series. (The show is set in Indianapolis)
p.s.- Everybody in Indianapolis fucking hated Harbaugh when he was playing for the Colts in the mid-90's.

Well, Romo had surgery so I doubt he's starting anything except maybe some rehab....Philly is gonna run roughshod over the hapless Cowboys....28-3 Eagles is my call.

Yup, some Seattle basketball fans continue to support OKC, some have picked up other teams, some have now turned to the Blazers - and so far they are having a very promising year.

Lol - I swallowed a large pill of pride by admitting to my friends I was hoping for a SF superbowl victory last year... But I suppose the SF fan taunting and trolling would be even more extreme this year if that'd happened (although it would've been a good story with Kaepernick) And then this world series with NY not making the playoffs I was pushing for Oakland - then when Oaktown was out, I was one of very few Yankee fans pushing for Boston (except S4L was with me;)) for an AL east World Series win. You are right, a die hard fan shouldn't ever be rooting for a rival - but when you dislike the opposing teams and credit is due - sometimes your subconscious turns you into a traitor I suppose - Lol.

But I'd imagine you can't fuck around in Chicago!

This year though, I'm determined for a Seattle championship, and if SF beats Seattle out of the #1 seed I'm going to be one pissed off Hawks fan, and certainly will not be rooting for SF this year no matter what happens.

Trust me, right now Percy Harvin is the pink elephant in the room - but not many SEA fans will admit it. We have been great without him, but with anticipation comes high hopes for a lot of Hawks fans. I hope the best for the situation but I'm really not expecting him to make an impact anytime soon - my guess is, he'll be on IR very soon if the decision hasn't already been made.

It's true- You can't fuck with Bears fans. That's where they got the saying, "Don't poke the bear." It's true! ;)

you'd be surprised Holdin', I was posting a bunch on the Fox MLB boards during the playoffs & world series, there were a shitload of Yankees fans rooting for the Sox to win. We're not such a hateful bunch, most sane Yankees fans realize that we've won 28 WS and seeing the joy going to our nemesis isn't such a bad thing.

Once the Yanks were out of it I refuse to allow myself to be caught up in hatred for a team full of great talent, I can hate 'em when they're playing the Yankees or are in a pennant race against us but aside from that I love baseball for the beauty of the game.

It was more like, before the Packers faced the Steelers in the Superbowl, I commented that I wanted the Packers to win, and my friend said "eff the Packers".
Bears fans get along well enough with cheeseheads; they drink their beer, eat their sausage and cheese, how can you not like them?
Im hoping the best for the Bears today but with A-rodge back Im not so sure this will turn out well for us...

When Orton pulled a Romo late in the 4th they had a camera on Jerry Jones in the owners booth, he was already standing and had his back to the field, with fists clenched Jone's screamed "FUCK!!!," you could read his body language as the word exited his face.

Evidently there's some truth in the saying:
'Money can't buy you happiness'
