Controlling the damn Caterpillars this year

I had to write in on this one. I had caterpillars this year....bigtime.
I had six females in my garden this year prop 215 compliant three different strains. I started noticing problems about a month before harvest. These fucking caterpillars were splitting buds from tail to tip. I then realized they were only attacking one type, my 2 beautiful Sheherazade. I finally had to pull them after hand searching and picking out the friggin things. I thought I had most of them out. After harvest and during drying they started coming out in droves. I must have removed 100 caterpillars per plant. It was unbelievable. I minimize my losses through vigilance. The smoke cured up great! The only problem are the little caterpillar pellets that show up in my grinder screen. The rest of my plants finished with one or two caterpillars if any at all. They loved the Sheherazade as much as I did I guess.

Bump- Lets get this bitch started again! I have begun my yearly battle with the little green beasts....... started with prelim treatment of spinosad and azatrol last weekend. Plan to spray every 10 days at dusk until the 18th of Sept. Harvest of a majority will be 4-5 weeks later- Whatcha got goin?

Garant is what im using and spraying, usally loose 5+ plants a yr from bud and/or cutworms

azatrol will not have any effect on caterpillars and, more importantly, its an oil based product and will leave a residue on your meds. not good! azatrol is great from mite control until bud set...at that point, i would not smoke anything or sell anything to patients that has been treated with aza or even neem... oil based products are a no-no in flower.
spinosad, while organic, should only be used sparingly because it has a rough effect on the environment. it kills bees. I only use it once every 30 days until buds start to stack.
BTk is perfect for killing cats and it does not persist in the environment or on your nug. Spray it in the evening because sunlight kills it.

Controlling caterpillars takes a little effort.
I use BT and spray at 5 times the recommended dose. I also spray at least once a week when the moths that lay them are around. They hatch and die, real real small. FYI, BT works much better on small young caterpillars. When they get bigger it is much harder to kill them fast.
I find several species of caterpillar pests, maybe 4-5. BT kills them all. You can also get pheromone traps that let you know when to spray. Just save any moths you find and you can send them to a local agri station to get an ID if needed. The moths seem to lay more eggs in the spring and fall, but I see them all year round in greenhouses.

I have been seen chasing them moth bastards around the grow yelling . cat killer works slowly need to get em early like has been said. early on before flower hot pepper sprays seem to keep the moths from laying so many eggs on plants

I wouldn't...? haha I would warp the fence that surrounds my garden.. kinda looks like this
maybe a bit bigger..regardless of the size.. do you see what im saying now? I would like to wrap around the frame to keep the pesky buggers out
