AN PH perfect nutrients + lockout/burn?

Ok. In Europe you should be able to get hold vitalink coco grow, or some other good quality 1-part nutrient. Get a bottle. Should only cost a few euros for a liter. While you're there, get some 1L pots.

Stop using the canna mono elements, and, for now, put the sensi 3-part in the cupboard.

1 more thing: can you post pictures?

Ok thanks for everyones feedback. The smaller plant is doing gr8 atm with small doses of canna mono elements. Ive switched to 2.5l feed per day as someone suggested and i think i will finish this grow without further problems. Bigger plant has had lower nutrient concentrations and ive stopped using canna monos on her. Lets see how she performs. Fat colas atm:woohoo:

I am still leaning towards canna coco a+b, rizotonic and cannazym for my next grow as its easily available and cause of the problems i had earlier with AN.

Im getting ec meter and running biobizz coco 6.1 ph 0.3 ec. What ec should i aim my first nutrients at new sprouts and when? Any canna experts? Also going to be using 8.2 ph tap water this time.

Thanks!:blowbubbles:

There are no such thing as canna experts. Only people who know how to feed a plant. The brand of nutrient doesn't matter, which is why when you're learning it's better to use a 1-part nutrient. Believe me, I've used them all, if 2 or 3-part nutrients offered an advantage, I'd be using them now. Only in flower do you have to bring in another bottle to your regime.

If you do go with canna, buy a bottle of canna start and use that at 1.0ec for your seedlings when they pop the shell. 1.0ec is the total feed strength, with tap water included.

You should also use small pots for starting seedlings. No bigger than 1L. This is just standard gardening and has so many practical benefits which need no more than common sense to figure out. Keep it nice and basic and drop the calmag/mono stuff, because with good quality coco, and especially with your hard water, it is a total myth that coco need special treatment with calcium and magnesium. It will only give you problems down the line.

Do a little test for yourself now after reading this. Go into the infirmary section, and read through as many posts as you can. Find a grower who is feeding 1.0 ec of balanced base veg nutrients or starter feed, who is having problems with a sickly looking, ill-fed plant.

Then, if you can find any at all, compare that number to those who are making up a large chunk of their feed with calmag and all sorts of other stuff.

That alone should tell you everything you need to know.

Great info Papaduc. Appreciated.

I'm gonna start the seedlings in small 9oz cups and then transplanting them after good root developement to 1 liter pots and then finally to 10 liter pots. How does this sound?

I'm gonna keep my eye so that the EC is max 1.0 for the young sprouts.

Cheers!

I think seedlings do better with a pot at least 6" deep so that they dont get stunted.
If you start them in cups make sure to transplant as soon as the roots hit the bottom.
I like going from rooter plugs and then into small pots.
Its alright to bury the stem a little if you get some stretching.

Just my 2 cents...I have used AN ph perfect and it is designed to be used with RO H2O right? Distilled isn't the same in my experience and my tap water.... well....

Had to switch to Cyco for the bloom of my AK 47's cuz needed some bloom nutes to switch too as the cycle switches this week...
Did some research on 'em and have a really good working relationship with my grow shop man so I'm tryin them out.

Not ph perfect....but thats ok. Overall cheaper line than AN

If you've only got a few seedlings, start them in 1L pots. If you've got loads, start them in seed cups, just for convenience.

The advantage of starting in seed cups is, as coconutz mentioned, if your seedling gets a bit stretchy, you can bury it right up to it's first leaves on it's next pot up. Roots will grow from the buried stem and it will become part of the root system.

I let them root out a 1L pot then move them into their final pot and straight under the big lights.

The most important thing is, if you're using plain coco, start feeding at 1.0ec of base food only when they pop their first leaves out.
